Chapter 2

Xavier froze instantly. He gritted his teeth, picked up the two things and rushed out of the house.

I struggled to get up, washed up, and went to the company.

My leader, Owen Brown, was shocked to see that I had a bandage on my head and bruises on my face.

"Grace, what happened? Are you okay?"

I forced myself to smile.

"I'm fine. It's just a minor skin injury. It will be fine after a few days of swelling. Mr. Brown, I'm here to talk to you about setting up a branch abroad, which you mentioned last time."

Owen's eyes lit up.

He said, "So you've thought about it and are willing to go overseas?"

I said, "Well, I've thought about it and decided to take on this responsibility."

Owen seemed to remember something and asked.

"I remember when I mentioned this a while ago, you said your husband disagreed. Did you convince him?"

I was slightly stunned and just nodded, ignoring the question.

It didn't matter whether Xavier agreed or not.

In the afternoon, I went to the hospital. When I was about to leave, Xavier called me.

"Where are you?"

I said, "I'm changing the dressing at the hospital. What do you want?"

Xavier didn't respond. I was about to hang up when he spoke.

"Wait a moment. I'll come pick you up."

Before I could refuse, Xavier hung up the phone. And I walked slowly to the hospital entrance.

I originally planned to take a taxi and go home, but I didn't expect Xavier to arrive so quickly.

He stopped the car neatly in front of me.

"Get in the car."

I walked around to the passenger seat, but saw Nicole sitting in my seat.

My heart suddenly tightened, and I looked at Nicole coldly.

Nicole immediately put on the aggrieved look and looked at me while biting her lip.

"Grace, don't be angry. I'm carsick, so I sat in the passenger seat. I'll move to the back..."

Xavier said, "Nicole, you sit in the front. Grace, you sit in the back. There's nothing to worry about!"

I sneered and sat in the back.

I seldom ride in Xavier's car, and he even forgot that I also get carsick.

The road conditions in our town were not very good. It was bumpy all the way, and I was trying hard not to vomit.

What was strange was that even though Nicole's house was closer to mine, Xavier drove the car directly to the downstairs of my house.

Just when I realized something, Xavier looked at me coldly and spoke.

"Grace, go back. Her foot needs to be patched up. I have to take care of her."

I finally understood what was going on. It turned out that he wanted to go home with Nicole.

Suddenly, I had a strong feeling of nausea.

I couldn't help but open my mouth. All the contents of my stomach that I had been holding back all the way burst out.

A strong sour liquid splashed all over Xavier and Nicole's body and face.

Ignoring Nicole's screams and Xavier's roars, I opened the car door and got out.

Damn those scumbag and bitch. This was my gift.

It was not until I went upstairs that I realized that I had forgotten to give the divorce agreement I had prepared today to Xavier.

I put the divorce agreement I had already signed on the table and started packing my things.

Although, this house carried the three-year marriage between Xavier and I.

But it had been polluted by Nicole. And I didn't want to stay here anymore.

What was more, I had already promised Owen to go abroad to establish a new company.

This was a good opportunity to completely cut off ties with Xavier.

After working for most of the night, I finally packed up all my things.

In fact, most of the things had been thrown away. Since I had decided to give up, I didn't want to leave any trace of myself in this house.

I took a last look at the huge wedding photo hanging on the wall and took it down with trembling hands.

I reached out and gently stroked the two energetic and smiling faces in the photo.

It had only been three years. I didn't expect that our marriage would come to an end do soon.

I felt sad, so I gritted my teeth, stuffed it into the trash bag, and threw it into the garbage station downstairs.

I didn't sleep well that night. I dreamed a lot about our past.

From the initial beauty, to the subsequent dullness, and finally to despair and loss.

It was almost dawn, and I fell into a sleepy state. When I opened my eyes again, it was already morning.

I opened my phone and saw a piece of local news saying that an international business conference was being held at the city exhibition center this morning.

The news also listed a long list of key personnel attending the conference.

Among them were the names of Xavier and Nicole. And what surprised me even more was the relationship label between the two.

[Xavier: President of the Walsh Group. Nicole: His wife.]

Seeing this, I sneered. Nicole was Xavier's wife? What about me?

I was planning to divorce Xavier, but I was still Mrs. Walsh now!

I immediately dressed up and took a taxi straight to the exhibition center.

The security guard at the entrance of the venue reached out to stop me.

"Which company do you represent, Miss? Do you have an invitation?"

I was stunned.

"I don't have an invitation. I am here with my husband, Xavier, the president of the Walsh Group."

The security guard frowned and looked at the sign-in sheet.

"Miss, you must be mistaken. Mr. Walsh's wife is Nicole. And she has already signed in."

I gritted my teeth, knowing that the security guard couldn't be blamed for this, and simply took out the marriage agreement from my bag.

Fortunately, I was planning to divorce Xavier these days, so I kept the marriage agreement with me.

When the security guard saw it, he suddenly became nervous, but finally let me in.

At this time, on the stage, the emcee was solemnly introducing the participating guests from various well-known companies.

"Dear distinguished guests and CEOs, please allow me to introduce Mr. Walsh of the Walsh Group and his wife, Nicole. Mr. Walsh is..."

Hearing this, I immediately went onto the stage and shouted at the emcee.

"Wait!"

My loud shout startled the host and everyone present.
