Love for Many Years: I will Forget You and All the Memories

Perhaps when the marriage alliance was made, I had some selfish motives. I had a slight feeling that he might fall in love with me over time. But Caleb never spent time with me. He was devoted to his career. No way there would be any affection between us.

In the four years of our marriage, there were few travel occasions. It was only because the Moore family felt that they had treated me unfairly. Then they forced Caleb to take me out. I never did anything that put him off, so he couldn't hate me. Every time we went out, we treated each other with respect and kept our distance.

It wasn't that we weren't happy when we were together. However, ambiguity and affection were always lacking between us.

"Could it be that he was crying for me?" But I never needed his pity. I wanted to see him smile at me brightly and confidently, just like when he smiled at Clara.

I knew that I was a person without a sense of humor. I wasn't as lively as Clara. Whether it was in the past or now, Caleb never got along with me as casually and freely as with others.

He seemed to have seen through me and was more cautious around me.

Just like when we sat at the same table for a short time, it was dull.

He was the one who spoke first.

"Your name is Libby? I saw it on the class list before. I thought it was a boy's name."

My name was indeed more neutral and even sounded more like a male name. It wasn't connected to my appearance or personality.

I could only say, "Indeed. Many people would think so."

My answer seemed to be abstract. I knew that I didn't have many conversation skills. Unsure of what to say next, the ones talking with me would be more ill at ease.

I moved my body, which woke up Caleb, who was not fully asleep.

Seeing that I woke up, he, who had been sad, was angry. He accused me, saying, "What are you doing? You're already an adult. Don't you know how to watch out for the situation on the road? Don't you check the traffic lights when walking on the sidewalk? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

I couldn't tell if he was angry at my stupidity or me for causing him trouble, but I thought there was no way that he was feeling sorry for me.

Calmly, I looked at him lightly and said, "Caleb, let's get divorced."
