8.9 / 10.0
After six years of marriage, Victoria’s anniversary is marked by her husband Elliott Wellington’s absence and a proxy-delivered bouquet of roses. Knowing she is allergic, Victoria discards the flowers and mails divorce papers to his office. The next day, Elliott returns to apologize, blaming Emily’s ignorance for the floral choice while obliviously sporting a lipstick mark. Unmoved, Victoria presents a property division contract. Enraged, Elliott tears up the agreement and storms out, only for their paths to cross again a month later.

Love Ex-husband Again? Never! Chapter 1

We had been married for six years. On our anniversary, Elliott Wellington did not come home all night, but asked someone to bring me a bouquet of roses.

I looked calm, threw the bouquet of flowers into the trash can, printed out the divorce agreement, and mailed it to his company.

The next day, Elliott made a special trip home to apologize to me.

"Victoria, Emily doesn't know that you are allergic to flowers. She means well."

His expression was sincere and affectionate, but he didn't notice that there was still a lipstick mark on his face.

I sneered and took out the property division agreement. "I don't know that. But if you sign it, all three of us will be satisfied."

However, Elliott was not happy. He tore up the agreement with a cold face and left never to return.

It was a month later when we met again.

——

"Victoria, give me some food."

The sound of the suitcase wheels turning was getting closer and closer. Elliott put down his things and lay down on the sofa with a tired look.

Elliott returned home after a month-long business trip.

After six years of marriage, he became closer and closer to his young and beautiful female secretary. They started dating half a year ago and he bought a big house for Emily.

Every time we quarreled, he would go into the cold war with me for a long time and then go find Emily.

I thought Elliott would never come back.

Unexpectedly, he acted as if nothing had happened and made his request as naturally as before, asking me to get him something to eat.

I didn't even raise my head.

Holding a notebook, I was sitting on the balcony, busy with work.

Seeing that I ignored him, Elliott called me again.

I said, "Cook whatever you want to eat, or order takeout."

My voice was cold.

It was so cold that it felt like I was talking to an insignificant stranger.

Elliott was stunned.

In the past, I would never dare to say such words.

After all, everyone thought that marrying Elliott was indeed marrying above my station.

I should humble myself and be grateful.

But I couldn't stand it anymore.

Elliott sat up, looked at me silently for a while, then got up and went to the kitchen.

After fiddling around in the kitchen for a long time, he finally cooked fast food, which smelled burnt.

When he brought it out, he looked at me with some embarrassment.

"Victoria, will you stop being angry?

"Without you cooking for me, I can't even have normal fast food."

His words were tinged with resentment.

It seemed like Elliott was blaming me for deliberately not cooking for him.

But I just sneered.

He was a grown-up, but he couldn't even cook fast food properly.

After six years of marriage, Elliott's parents looked down on me. They looked down on my family background and despised me as a person.

When Elliott made up his mind to marry me, they forbade him to hire a servant out of spite.

So for the past six years, I'd done all the housework.

I had to work during the day and take care of Elliott when I get home. At first, he understood my difficulties.

But gradually, I was so busy every day that I no longer had time to put on makeup and dress myself up.

Elliott's attention shifted to others.

He became closer and closer to his beautiful young secretary, Emily Cooper. I even saw them shopping hand in hand.

Emily asked him, "Who is better, me or your wife?"

Elliott smiled nonchalantly, "Of course it's you. Victoria can't compare to you."

Later I found out, and he explained it calmly.

"It's just a show."
