Love at First Sight, Let’s Get Married!
Chapter 3
Just as I was struggling to refuse, a finger slowly took the cherry. My gaze fell on his face. Louis, using one hand, put the cherry in his mouth, held it firmly, and muttered vaguely, "Want some?"
His lips were thin. When not smiling, he looked a bit stern, but with the cherry in his mouth, he seemed like he was asking for a kiss.
I held my breath and slowly moved closer.
His eyelashes were long and thick. As he looked down at me, he appeared even more gentle. My heartbeat quickened. Half of the cherry was outside his lips. I carefully leaned in and gently took it in my mouth, desperately trying to tie a knot with the stem using my tongue. The more I panicked, the more mistakes I made. The short cherry stem simply wouldn't knot.
I started to panic, but then I heard him chuckle softly. Before I could react, something warm and soft gently brushed against my lips. The sweet and sour juice burst in my mouth, and in my panic, I accidentally bit his thin lip.
He took a light breath, slowly stepped back, and showed the bitten cherry to everyone. "Sorry, I couldn't resist..."
Everyone was stunned for a moment, then started making a fuss. The guy sitting opposite us spoke up, "Louis! You can't just let this go! You need to be punished. Here, drink this glass of wine."
Louis shrugged and reached for the glass. Having just taken advantage of him, I couldn't let him take the punishment for me. I quickly grabbed the glass and said loudly, "No way! I lost the dare, I'll drink it!"
After saying that, I gulped down the glass of wine. It was so spicy!
This guy definitely had bad intentions, giving my crush such strong liquor. Luckily, I could handle my alcohol!
But I had a flaw. Even though I could drink, alcohol made my face flush. I could feel my cheeks burning and they were probably bright red by now.
Louis had been a step too slow to stop me earlier. Now, seeing my flushed cheeks, he frowned slightly. "Drunk?"
I was about to say I was fine, but then I thought, "Isn't this a great opportunity?"
So I tilted my head and leaned on his broad chest, pretending to be pitiful. "I'm a bit dizzy, but I'm not drunk! I can still drink."
The latter part was absolutely true, but unfortunately, Louis clearly didn't believe it. He looked at me for a while and then said to everyone, "She's drunk, I'll take her home first."
I secretly signaled Clara, who understood immediately. "Alright, it's perfect. Louis, you haven't drunk, so you can take Natalie home!"
Louis carried me outside, putting me in the passenger seat. I closed my eyes, pretending to be passed out, but in my mind, I was planning to act drunk when we got there and ask him if the person he liked was me!
"Natalie? Still dizzy?" His deep voice sounded in my ear. I kept my eyes closed and didn't respond. Then I felt him slowly lean closer, and my heartbeat quickened. Could he be about to...
"Click!" He fastened my seatbelt for me, then started the car smoothly.
Damn! I had clearly pouted my lips just now!
Twenty minutes later, I embarrassingly realized that Louis had brought me to his apartment.
I could even hear him muttering softly, cursing Clara for having too much fun and not replying to his messages, forcing him to take me home.
"Good job, Clara. No wonder you're my best friend. You'll have to sit at the main table at my wedding!"
Louis lightly patted my cheek with his cool hand, "Natalie? Are you still awake?"
I deliberately ignored him, wanting to see what he would do next. But after waiting for a long time with no movement from him, just as I was losing patience and about to open my eyes, I felt his warm breath on my face.
I immediately realized that he was very close to me, so close that I could feel his breath on my face, so close that...
Maybe he could kiss me at any moment.
My heartbeat sped up, and my eyes darted nervously. In the next second, I suddenly felt weightless. Startled, I instinctively wrapped my arms around his neck. He paused slightly. "Awake?"
I pretended to be groggy. "So dizzy, I want to sleep..."
Louis sighed and carried me inside. He placed me on the sofa and took off my shoes. Under the dim night light, his expression was gentle and considerate, giving me the illusion that we had been living together for a long time.
Maybe the alcohol had a strong aftereffect because I felt a bit drunk. I stared at him and reached out to touch his face, saying, "Louis, I like you."
He was stunned for a second and didn't speak for a long time.
I reached out and pulled him over. Caught off guard, he fell into my arms. Maybe the strong alcohol really boosted my courage. I turned over and sat on top of him, looking down at him under the night light.
His pupils weren't purely brown. They had a touch of gentle amber. My hand slowly slid down from his collar, unbuttoning his shirt one by one.
Louis was obviously someone who worked out regularly. His firm abs rose and fell with his breathing, looking very impressive. I groggily touched his abs.
The next second, he tightly grabbed my hand and frowned, asking, "Who am I?"
I thought, "Hadn't I just called your name? Could I really be that drunk?" But I wanted to tease him on purpose.
I bent down, lying on top of him, and leaned in to look at his face. He tried to avoid me, but I grabbed his chin.
"Louis..."
As soon as I finished speaking, I felt the world spin. He was panting heavily and pressed me down underneath him.
