Chapter 5

“As long as our parents are here, our Beatrice will always be the little princess in our hands.”

At that time, she felt that she was the happiest person in the world.

But now, Beatrice looked at the price of the dress and found that it was 34,000 dollars, a number that she could not even hope for.

Seeing Beatrice staring at the dress stupidly, Viola blinked at Harold and spoke mysteriously.

“I know what gift to give Beatrice!”

She almost snatched it from Beatrice in one go.

“Beatrice, stay here. You like this skirt, don’t you?”

When Beatrice subconsciously looked at Harold, his eyes were dazed for a moment.

This dress was too expensive and did not suit her status.

More importantly, she didn’t want to owe Viola anymore and even less did she want to owe Harold.

“Sister-in-law, you misunderstood.”

Originally, she didn’t want any gift from Viola.

Everything was done in a forced manner. Beatrice hesitated for a moment, then pointed to the clothing stall outside the window and curled the corners of her mouth.

“I’m not used to the clothes in Clamore. I like the denim shirt. Sister-in-law, please give it to me.”

Clothes worth dozens of dollars were hanging outside, wrinkled.

There was a hint of surprise in Viola’s eyes and she looked at Harold helplessly for a moment.

“Harold, did I do something wrong? I really wanted to buy a gift for her. Did Beatrice think that I could only afford cheap goods? Otherwise, why did she humiliate me like this?”

Harold’s voice was unnaturally cold, but his expression softened somewhat.

He looked at Beatrice with a smile and whispered in her ear, “Just accept whatever I give you. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to wear it. Don’t get angry. It’s not your turn to say no to something given by my woman.”

Yes.

I had known that Harold was always so domineering.

Once before, he took a female star home to spend the night.

Beatrice was so angry that she poured milk on the dress worth hundreds of thousands of dollars given by the brand and also slapped the female star.

The next day, she received a lawyer’s letter from the agency.

But Harold tore it up directly and in order to calm the matter down, he gave away several million dollars.

The female star refused to accept.

What did he say at that time? Oh, “It’s not your turn to say no to what my Dolton Family does and what they give away.”

The boomerang from a few years ago turned in the air and finally pierced into Beatrice’s heart again.

Apart from a wry smile, she didn’t dare show any emotion.

Viola was a person who could read people’s expressions. She smiled and stretched out her hand, asking as a matter of course.

“Beatrice, I gave you a gift. Now, do you have to give me a gift in return? Otherwise, it would be very rude.”

After she finished speaking, Beatrice raised her eyes and looked at Harold.

There was only indifference in the man’s eyes and that look was clearly warning her not to embarrass herself.

Beatrice’s heart trembled and she carefully took out a round fan that she had sewn by herself from her backpack.

This was a wedding gift for them.

In order to make this round fan, she stayed up all night for several days and her hands were pricked by needles with several small and medium-sized holes.

Viola was stunned at first, then she pursed her lips, looking aggrieved.

“Harold, look at her. She’s trying to fool me with this little thing. It’s only worth a few hundred bucks at a street stall.”

Just as she was about to take it, Harold got there first and knocked her to the ground.

He looked at Beatrice with a half-smile, with undisguised mockery and sarcasm in his eyes.

“How can you afford such a shabby gift? Viola gave you clothes worth 34,000 dollars. Even if you are rude, you don’t have to give me this rubbish, right? You have eaten up the Dolton Family’s education! How could you be this?!”
