“What did you say?”

He was stunned, then frowned and said impatiently, “Is it because of Paige?”

I looked up and stared at him.

Harley thought I was joking. “Okay, I know you are injured and in a bad mood. You should have a good rest first. I will go back to deal with the team’s affairs first and I will accompany you in the evening.”

He seemed a little anxious, turned and left after speaking.

But the button of my clothes hooked my infusion tube and the needle was pulled out of the back of my hand and blood gushed out instantly.

I groaned in pain and when I looked up again, he had disappeared.

I pressed the wound and slowly pressed the call bell.

In the evening, Harley and Paige appeared in the ward.

“Monica, I came to see you. This is the meal I brought for you.”

She opened the thermos bucket, which contained delicious food.

Paige looked expectant. “Monica, I made it myself, try it.”

Harley placed the meal on the table and the two of them just stared at me.

I had no appetite, so I put it aside after a few bites.

But I didn’t notice that Paige had a smile on her lips.

Harley poured me a glass of water and I just felt a little itchy around my neck. When I raised my hand, I found that my arm was covered with rashes and my throat began to be short of breath.

Only then did I realize that I was allergic.

Before I could speak, Harley had already rushed out in a hurry.

Paige looked at me in panic and shouted, “How could this happen? Monica, what’s wrong with you?”

As she spoke, tears fell down and she was like a frightened rabbit.

I felt that she was unusually noisy at this time.

I hated myself for being careless and it was obvious that I was tricked by her.

When Harley called the doctor, he took the food and tasted it, frowning.

“That’s right, doctor. She’s allergic to peanuts.”

The doctor gave me an anti-allergic injection and the symptoms gradually eased.

She pulled Harley and was about to cry. “Harley, I didn’t know Monica was allergic to peanuts. I actually bought this meal in the store and you know, I can’t cook…”

Paige cleared herself in a few words.

“Paige, go back first.”

Harley sent Paige away and returned to my side.

I saw him being fooled by these dirty tricks.

I endured the itchiness all over my body and closed my eyes to take a nap.

Harley brought ice cubes and towels to relieve the itching on my neck and arms, covered with red rashes.

“Monica, Paige is still young and still like a child. Don’t be angry.”

I really didn’t know that the girl who was one year older than me was still a child in his eyes.

Harley’s tone was very much like a father with a naughty child at home.

I raised my hand to knock the ice pack out of his hand and opened my eyes to look at him.

“Harley, are you really confused or pretending to be confused?”

The ice pack fell to the ground with a dull sound.

He looked unhappy and said in a low voice, “I told you, Paige didn’t mean it. What else do you want?”
