Chapter 2

It also made her hate me even more.

If I go there alone in this life, I must first design a set of protective clothing to protect myself.

That day, I was repeatedly calculating the design drawings of protective clothing in the laboratory.

The door was suddenly flung open and Clara rushed in with a sullen face.

She came up and slapped me, pointing her finger at me and demanding, "Victor suddenly feels unwell, vomiting and having diarrhea. The doctor said it's food poisoning! Is this you who's to blame?"

I covered my burning face and looked up at her: "It's not me! I didn't do these things!"

Her eyes were red with anger, and she sneered, "Who else but you? You said you were going to that place for him, but you were secretly trying to harm him?"

"Victor's life is in danger, and you still have the mood to draw these blueprints!"

As she spoke, she grabbed the blueprints on my desk and began to tear them up.

I rushed over and held her hand, gritting my teeth and saying, "Let go!"

She became more and more excited as she spoke: "You vicious lunatic! You are just a bastard without any parents to teach you!"

At this moment, the hatred in Clara's eyes suddenly pulled me back to my previous life.

Back then, we were always at each other's throats over Victor Hawthorne.

Every word and sentence is designed to hurt the other person the most.

I pushed her away and grabbed her throat, "That's enough! Don't mention my parents!"

"I told you it wasn't me! If you don't believe me, you can check the surveillance now!"

She stood there in a daze, and then she realized what she had said, and her face turned pale.

She knew that my parents were the deepest sore spot in my heart.

"I'm sorry, I...I was just too anxious. Something happened to Victor suddenly, and I was confused for a moment."

She looked at me with complicated eyes and stammered to explain herself.

I interrupted her directly and sneered, "Since I agreed to go, I will never go back on my word, and I will definitely not do such despicable things!"

"If you have nothing else, you can go out!"

She regained her cold demeanor: "Victor is weak, I don't want him to get into trouble."

"Lucas, for the sake of my continued care for you, I hope you can keep your word."

I curled the corners of my lips in self-mockery, and a hint of bitterness flashed through my eyes.

Don't worry, Clara.

I will soon disappear from your sight as you wish.

In the evening, Mrs. Davies brought a bowl of soup, saying it was made by Clara herself.

I stood up and poured the bowl of soup into the toilet.

After my parents died, I was fostered by Professor Hawthorne's family.

Clara took good care of me and I gradually fell in love with her.

But thirty years of mutual torture made me sober.

There has always been only Professor Hawthorne in her heart.

She takes care of me just because she is my teacher.

In this case, I can no longer have anything to do with her.

When I returned to the room that day, I could see at a glance that it had been turned over.

No need to think about it.

Professor Hawthorne must have wanted to take the opportunity to find the package my parents left behind before I left.

Fortunately, I had a trick up my sleeve and hid the things somewhere else.

At this time, Professor Hawthorne walked in with a smile, and kept asking about my well-being: "Be sure to take care of yourself when you get there."

"Your parents passed away early, and I took care of you for them. I always treated you like my own son, and I really couldn't bear to see you go."

As he spoke, his eyes turned red and a few tears fell.

I just felt sick.

It was clear that he had something to do with his parents' car accident.

Unfortunately, when I found out the truth in my previous life, he was already dead.

"Stop being so hypocritical. It makes me sick." I said coldly.
