Chapter 4

After the dinner, Nora was a little drunk. And Paul said he would take her home.

But I saw that Paul's eyes were a little obscene, and I recalled what he said in the bathroom.

I gritted my teeth and decided to stop them for Nora.

"What?

"Why you again?"

Paul recognized me and said impatiently, "Don't you want to do this anymore? I'm going to fire you now!"

I sneered, "You don't have the right. I am an employee of the Wilson family here. You have no right to control me!"

"Humph, Nora is my fiancée, and I will soon be the son-in-law of the Wilson family and the controller of the group. How can I not fire you? Get out of here!"

He scolded loudly. Nora frowned, opened her sleepy eyes and looked at me.

I quickly held down the brim of my hat.

Nora opened her lips, revealing her white and delicate teeth...

But she didn't say anything, as if she didn't recognize me.

"Okay, stop arguing here." she sobered up a little, pushed Paul, and stood up straight.

"The driver will be here soon. You guys go ahead."

She stood back calmly, taking a step away from Paul.

"You're my fiancée, but I can't take you home?"

"Honey, I have some things to deal with. I won't go home for the time being. I have to go to the company."

Even so, she still called him honey.

I smiled bitterly in my heart. In three years, she had never called me like that.

Nora directly pushed Paul's hand away and nodded at me. "Drive for me."

Then she threw the car keys to me.

It was a Maserati.

I didn't know what happened after I left.

Paul sneered, "Do you think that waiter looks like he can drive a Maserati?"

Nora was not to be outdone. "Paul, not everyone can be a waiter in my family!"

Under Paul's sinister gaze, a red Maserati slowly drove over.

I lowered my voice and carefully helped Nora into the car.

Nora turned her head to the side and looked out the window quietly.

I opened a navigation and positioning company, but she changed her mind halfway through.

"Take me home."

I was startled and glanced at the rearview mirror.

Nora was staring at me.

I was very nervous, afraid that she would recognize me.

"What's your name?"

She started asking about me. "Haven't I seen you before?"

I smiled awkwardly. "I have a common face."

She sneered, "A common face won't have a scar. My dad is very strict and won't let someone like you join the company. Tell me, what's your purpose?"

She asked me what my purpose was.

It seemed that she really didn't recognize me.

I was relieved.

"I have no purpose. I just do it for a living."

"Living? You know how to drive luxury cars but just do it to make a living?"

Her question startled me.

My hands were sweating as I gripped the steering wheel. "Miss, I've been a chauffeur once. I've driven and studied better cars than this!"

Indeed, I had driven all kinds of luxury cars before.

"You work really hard to make money."

I was about to nod with a smile, but when I heard her next sentence, I froze.

"Am I right, Adrian?"

Because of what she said, I almost ran a red light.

I quickly slammed on the brakes and calmed down. "Miss, my name is Henry. You got the wrong person."

Nora sneered, "Okay, I admit my mistake."

She said this and closed her eyes.

When we arrived at her house, she asked me to take her upstairs.

This was my second time to come to the Wilson house.

First...

I didn't want to think about the past anymore.

"I'm sorry, Miss. I'm not going in there."

I didn't want to be embarrassed.

I was also more afraid that her parents would recognize me.

She walked a few steps, and seeing that I was not following her.

She suddenly pulled a wad of cash out of her bag and threw it at my face.

I looked at the money on the ground and clenched my fists.

"Don't act so noble. Poor people don't need ambition. You need money!"

My mind buzzed.

This was what I said to her that day.

I said these to get her to take my money.

I provoked her on purpose.

Tears welled up in my eyes.

I clenched my palms until they were bloody and clenched my teeth. "Thank you!"

I bent down to pick up the scattered money. There were a total of twenty thousand dollars.

It was enough for me to pay off a small debt.

But she sneered.

"You don't have money? I'll support you."

"No need!"

"You're welcome. I don't need this little money.

"Be my personal assistant, and I'll give you twenty thousand dollars a month."

I couldn't refuse.

Twenty thousand dollars was very important to me now.

At this moment, I suddenly understood.

At that time, I was so arrogant and domineering.

I thought I was in a high position, but in fact it was because of my parents' capital and connections.

Apart from my money and my title, I had nothing.
