Chapter 3

The church even sent three priests to guide us.

The moment I saw the familiar navy blue vestment, I was almost moved to tears.

Seeing my own people felt like reuniting with family.

Overcome with emotion, I instinctively clasped my hands and bowed deeply to them.

The three priests' eyes lit up with excitement, and they returned the gesture. "Your bow is very proper. Are you also a priest?"

That brought back some painful memories. Back then, because my bow wasn't up to standard, my master punished me by making me bow to the grandmaster for eight hours straight. The next day, I couldn't even straighten my back.

I gave an awkward smile. "I've just learned a bit."

In the livestream comments.

"Is she also trying to set up a metaphysical persona?"

"Is she seriously copying Naomi's persona too?"

"Naomi is a real priest. Does Lilian think playing a female priest in a drama makes her a real one?"

A large group of us began climbing the steps.

After two exhausting hours, we finally reached the top, gasping for breath.

Jonathan and Zachary leaned on their knees, panting heavily. "Why is this church so high?" Jonathan exclaimed.

Naomi was equally exhausted, her face pale. However, she kept her composure since it was a live broadcast.

Lilian, Harold, how come you two look perfectly fine? Jonathan asked, baffled.

These were three thousand steps. Even for people who exercise regularly, it was a strenuous climb without any breaks.

Probably because of regular exercise, I replied. This climb was nothing compared to carrying water up the mountain with my juniors back at the church when the water supply was cut off.

I was surprised Harold wasn't even out of breath either.

"Greetings, everyone!" A young priest in a red vestment stood at the church entrance, as if he had been waiting for us.

He looked somewhat familiar, but I couldn't place him.

The livestream comments exploded with excitement.

"Oh my goodness! A red vestment priest!"

"Wow, this priest is so young and already in a red vestment."

"Quick fact: vestment color ranks are: purple > yellow > red > green."

Actually, there's a slight mistake. Yellow signifies solo combat skills, while purple indicates skill in chanting spells.

I am skilled in chanting and am the best among the best.

The red vestment priest greeted us with a bow. "Blessings upon you, friends.

I am the abbot of Fortune Church, and I welcome you all on behalf of the church."

The more I looked at him, the more familiar he seemed.

Quinton Clark glanced at all of us. When his eyes met mine, his pupils dilated, and he rushed over, falling to his knees in a formal bow.

I was stunned.
