Chapter 1

I, Lilian Johnson, the thirteenth-generation Heavenly Master successor of the Justice Sect, inherited a dilapidated church. To earn money for its renovation, I inadvertently ended up acting in a web drama and thus entered the entertainment industry.

In the web drama, I portrayed a cold and aloof female priest who spoke little but acted decisively. My looks and acting skills quickly garnered popularity on a prominent platform,

with the comment section overflowing with praises.

"This actress is so beautiful!"

"Her outfit is beautiful!"

I was elated, thinking that I could also sustain myself on my appearance.

However, not all feedback was positive.

"Well, I think she's pretty average. Naomi Xander looks better."

"I won't say much about the newcomer, but Naomi's looks and acting skills are completely outclassed."

Naomi Xander, a rising star in the entertainment industry, was rumored to be a personal disciple of a master and cultivated a public persona as a metaphysical girl.

Her fans rushed over and began attacking me without hesitation.

"Don't try to ride on Naomi's fame. She's a real priest."

"Don't ride on Naomi's fame. Thanks."

"You're not popular but loves to ride on others' fame."

"Nowadays, even dubious people can play priests. What a joke."

I was momentarily speechless.

Isn't it possible that I am also a priest, even one with a church and official status?

At this moment, a comment by someone named Sunnybaby was upvoted to the top.

"Here's some juicy gossip: I have a friend who works on that web drama, and she said this newcomer joined the cast with financial backing, pushing out the original actor."

"Absolutely true."

"LilianJoinedWithMoney", "WhoIsLilian", "LilianPushedOutCoStar" and similar hashtags quickly climbed the Twitter trending list.

I didn't need to guess whose handiwork this was.

A large number of netizens, filled with a sense of justice, transformed into righteous warriors to denounce me for an unsubstantiated crime.

Looking at the stormy comment section, I could only exclaim how thrilling it was.

The company, seeing the current traffic, promptly placed me in a supernatural live broadcast related to priest culture.

The manager was grinning. "Seize this wave of popularity now. If not now, then when?"

I was speechless and exasperated.

Does my life not matter?

The variety show adopted a 24-hour live broadcast format, with real-time interaction through the comment section.

The first stop was a place called Fortune church.

By the time I arrived, there were already three guests on site.

One was Jonathan Norris, a newly debuted idol from a talent show, with countless female fans. When he saw me, he gave a sweet smile.

I added major points to my impression of him. Everyone would appreciate a polite and good-looking young man.

Another was Zachary Gray, who had just won the Best Actor award for a serious drama. I could see he had accumulated much virtue and had a blessed appearance.

And there was one unexpected person, Naomi.

She was dressed in plain vestment attire, her long black hair pinned up high with a peachwood hairpin, making her look ethereal and otherworldly.

Beautiful indeed, but the only flaw was...

When I first arrived, she was giving me such a fierce side-eye that I seriously suspected she might come up and scratch my face the next second.

Thinking of this made me shiver. Huh, she's even scarier than the demon I encountered at Weston Hill.

What puzzled me was that, despite Naomi being a person of the metaphysical world, she had such a harsh demeanor and lacked any trace of priest affinity.
