Chapter 1

On a cold winter night, a car skidded out of control and hit my mom's Hamburg stall.

When I arrived at the hospital, my mom was already on the verge of death.

"Queenie, I won't be able to see my precious grandson being born, and I won't be able to take care of your child anymore..."

Before my mom could finish her sentence, she took her last breath.

I was heartbroken and called my husband more than ten times.

When he finally answered the phone, I cried and told him about my mom's car accident and death.

But he impatiently said, "Queenie Chilton, have you finished? You said you were pregnant a while ago, and now you're saying your mom died in a car accident. You're really trying hard to find excuses to make me come back."

Then, I heard his mistress's sweet voice on the other end of the phone, "Queenie, I've got a stomach tonight, Wilson Williams brought me to the hospital. So, you don't need to make up such excuses to ask him to go back. By the way, why are you cursing your own mother like that?"

I wiped away my tears and said coldly, "Tell him that I'm waiting for him to come back so we can get a divorce. Then I'll give you, the mistress of the Williams, this position as Mrs. Williams!"

——

I handled my mom's funeral affairs alone, and then went to the hospital alone to have an abortion.

When I first found out I was pregnant, I was overjoyed.

My mother's biggest wish for me and Williams was to have a child.

But unexpectedly, my mother had passed away just two months after I got pregnant!

I dragged my tired body home with my mother's ashes and my miscarriage report.

At that moment, all I could think of was divorcing Williams.

On the third day after I returned home, Williams came back.

He looked tired and threw his suit jacket directly on the sofa, lying down on the sofa and ordered, "Hurry up and cook, I'm hungry now! Also, wash my clothes. I haven't changed them for a few days, and they're a bit dirty!"

If it were before, I would have already prepared the meal for him and washed his clothes without him asking.

He used to say that he liked the food I cooked the most, and no matter how good and delicious the outside food was, it couldn't compare to the deliciousness of my cooking.

My mother used to say that if I wanted to capture a man's heart, I had to capture his stomach, and I used to firmly believe in this.

But later I realized that no man cheated because the mistress' food she cooked was very delicious!

I walked up to him and expressionlessly placed a divorce agreement on the coffee table.

"Wilson Williams, sign it!"

Seeing the divorce agreement, Wilson frowned and scolded with a cold face, "Queenie, are you crazy again? Is it because I've been with Yvonne Lewis these few days?

"Didn't I already tell you that her family is all abroad, I have to help her when she has something from me since she only has me as a friend here..

"The relationship between me and her is not as dirty as you think. Can't you stop acting like a shrew?'

Hearing what he said, I was furious. My eyes turned red as I shouted, "Just because of your childhood sweetheart, do you know how many times you've come home in a year?

"When I was pregnant and went for a check-up, you were shopping with her!

"When my mom had a car accident, you were still with her. Since your heart is with her, I'll let you marry her!

"But don't worry, I'm not after your money. After you sign your name on this divorce agreement, I'll leave without taking a penny from you. From now on, we have nothing to do with each other!"

Williams got angry and glared at me fiercely, saying irritably, "Queenie Chilton, that's enough! First, you lied to me about being pregnant, and then a few days ago, you made up the story about your mom having a car accident. It's just like Yvonne said that why did you curse your own mother like this?

"I know I've been neglecting you a bit during the time when Yvonne was back, but you shouldn't be so outspoken and tell lies. If your mom finds out, what will she think?

"Forget it, I'm a bit tired recently and don't want to argue with you. So, please stop making a scene too!

"Well, this is the gift I bought for you. Go and cook now!"

Saying that, he took out a necklace from his pocket and threw it directly on the coffee table.

It was a green Van Cleef & Arpels four-leaf clover necklace, which was quite valuable.

When I saw this necklace, I suddenly felt that all my efforts over the years were not worth it.

Because a few days ago, I saw this necklace in Yvonne's Instagram.

At that time, her post had the caption of "A gift from my beloved, but I prefer the pink one!"

There wasn't even a packaging box for the green four-leaf clover necklace on the coffee, making it look like it was bought from a street stall.

So, Wilson gave me the style that Yvonne didn't like as a gift?

I was only worthy of picking up other people's trash?

I pointed to the divorce agreement and no longer had any expectations of him, and I said coldly, "Sign it! Let's part ways amicably, let's all be dignified and not make a scene that can't be resolved in the end!"

Wilson angrily stood up and shouted, "Queenie Chilton, my patience has its limits, so please don't push your luck!

"If you want to divorce me, ask your mother if she agrees or not!"

Without waiting for my response, he angrily went back to the bedroom.

Every time he got angry, I always had to compromise.

I love him humbly, but he didn't cherish it at all.

He wasn't like this before.

Before Yvonne returned to the country, Wilson and I had a good relationship. He was always doing for the good of me and I also treated him as my only one.

Since Yvonne returned to the country last year, he had changed.

He was no longer the man who once loved me deeply.

When Yvonne had a stomachache, he could drive over in the middle of the night to show his caring for her.

When Yvonne wanted to travel, he could accompany her for half a month, not answering my calls or messages, and not coming home.

For a woman, a man who ceased to be loyal was no different from being dead.

Wilson, who sometimes made a fuss, was still cute and pleasing to my eyes.

And now, no matter what he did, I thought he was just a shit.

Just let it be!

Let the years of love dissipate in the wind!

I took out my miscarriage report and put it on the coffee table, and left our home with my mother's ashes.

I wanted to take my mother back to my hometown. And now she was getting home now.
