I Lost My Child,My Lying Boyfriend Broke Down
Chapter 6
I sat in the hospital corridor for what felt like an eternity.
By the time dusk started to settle in, the driver called to remind me it was time to head home.
But something unexpected happened on the way back.
We were involved in a car accident.
My head hit the window, and the pain was overwhelming, making everything spin.
In the midst of it all, I instinctively cradled my stomach, which was throbbing with a deep ache.
In that moment, the first person I thought of was Miles – the man who once treated me like the center of his universe.
I dialed his number, and the call connected, but instead of his usual comforting tone, I was greeted by something else entirely.
A soft, feminine giggle echoed from his side, followed by Miles’s irritated hiss.
“Stop bothering me. Whatever it is, just hold on and tell me tomorrow.”
“Miles… I…”
The line went dead before I could finish.
The pain in my lower abdomen intensified, and my head felt heavy as blood trickled down and clouded my vision.
Numbly, I tried to call him again. One call after another, each one getting rejected.
On the fourth try, my heart sank as I realized he had blocked me.
Feeling completely hopeless, I began shouting for help, praying that someone, anyone, would hear me and come to my rescue.
I didn’t know how long I yelled, but the pain in my stomach eventually faded into a dull, numb throb.
Just before I passed out, I received a notification – a new message.
It was from Ashley.
The attached picture was one I never wanted to see.
Miles, covered in sweat, eyes half-closed in bliss, lay sprawled on top of Ashley. She smiled triumphantly at the camera, deliberately flaunting the love bites scattered across her skin.
They were both naked, lounging in a luxurious hotel bed.
Her message read: [No wonder you kept him for six years, Gretchen. He’s quite skilled, isn’t he?]
It felt like a dagger had been plunged into my heart.
Hot liquid gushed from my abdomen, followed swiftly by the loss of consciousness, carrying with it the love, memories, and pain of the last six years.
