I Lost My Child,My Lying Boyfriend Broke Down
Chapter 1
During a Truth-or-Dare game, my boyfriend of six years kissed his “childhood friend” in front of everyone just to save her face.
After a car accident caused me to lose our baby, I called him.
He sounded annoyed, too busy comforting his childhood friend, who was celebrating her birthday.
“Stop bothering me. Whatever it is, just hold on until tomorrow,” he said.
When I woke up from the accident, I had lost my memory – but only of him.
I still remembered everyone else, especially my gentle childhood sweetheart.
Yet my boyfriend seemed to have lost his mind, shouting at me while holding my prenatal report.
“How could you give up our baby? How could you forget me!”
——
The villa was brightly lit.
I stood somewhat disheveled at the entrance, holding a lemon cake from Miles’s favorite bakery.
To get this cake, I had run across half the city in the rain.
I waited in line forever, soaking my dress in the process.
Inside the living room, the atmosphere was heated, almost indecent.
About five or six people were there, crowded together playing Truth or Dare in what was supposed to be “our” home.
The only person I didn’t recognize was the girl in the white dress, fully made up, sitting to Miles’s left.
Miles had mentioned before that his “best buddy” had been in town from Portland for a month now.
I’d been too focused on my upcoming promotion at work to ask much about this “close friend” of his.
Just last night, I told him I had finally gotten the promotion and was now the team leader of my department.
Even though Miles, already running a soon-to-be-listed company, didn’t seem too impressed, he still suggested we celebrate at the villa and even wanted to introduce me to his “best buddy.”
So, the only person I didn’t recognize – the one sitting next to Miles – had to be that “buddy.”
Turns out, the “best buddy” Miles had been talking about for the past month was a girl.
