Chapter 2

Ah!

I came to my senses and I was lost in a state of extreme panic. The clear pain before death was so real.

Wait... This, this was my room?!

I quickly grabbed my phone. September 20, 2021.

And there was a message from Molly, [Chloe, don't forget the birthday party tonight. I'm waiting for you.]

At the same time, the same message content. Could this be not a dream, but... Was I trapped in a time loop?

I really didn't expect something so unbelievable to happen to me.

But now, what I was facing was how to break out of this time loop.

Based on the experience of dying in the previous two "dreams", I roughly guessed that once I die, I would wake up again from the bed. This meant that as long as I didn't die today, and could survive past 12 o'clock, I could go to the 21st. Otherwise, I would be forever trapped on the 20th.

But who the hell was the person who killed me?

I was low-key, without a wealthy family or a deep-seated grudge.

If I were to talk about new enemies, it would only be David and his female boss because I found out about their affair. They didn't want me to report them, so killing me to silence me was indeed the best solution.

I walked to the window and lifted the curtain to look down. I saw David waiting downstairs, smoking and pacing back and forth. It was clear how agitated he was.

I took out my phone and called David. "David, I will be on a business trip in New York for the next few days and won't be able to come back temporarily. I won't blame you for what happened last night. Let's break up on good terms. Don't worry, I won't go to your superiors to report your affair with your female boss."

There was silence on David's end for a moment, and then he said, "Okay, thank you."

David and I had been together for so many years, so he must know my character. I definitely wouldn't go back on what I said.

With my assurance, David shouldn't have any intention to kill me anymore.

I waited until David left before I went out.

With the previous lesson, I didn't dare to continue taking the bus. I hailed a taxi to the company.

As soon as I arrived at the company, I was told that Ms. Evans wanted to see me in her office.

Diana Evans smiled and asked me, "Chloe, I heard from other colleagues just now that today is your birthday, right?"

"Yes, Ms. Evans. My friends will celebrate my birthday for me tonight."

Although Diana was the director, she was usually kind and caring to everyone in the company, treating them like her younger sister. She had taken care of me a lot as well.

Diana smiled and handed me a document, "Well, I happen to have a birthday gift for you. I'm sure you'll like it. Take a look."

I read the document and it turned out that the head office was going to send me to participate in this year's Original Designer Competition. I was overjoyed, "Ms. Evans, did the head office really choose me?"

This happiness came too suddenly.

"Chloe, I have full confidence in you. Prepare yourself well. I hope you can submit a satisfactory answer for the company. I'm looking forward to the surprise you will give us..."

"Yes, yes, Ms. Evans. Don't worry, I will do my best."

Until noon, I was still immersed in the joy of being able to go to the Original Designer Competition.

"Hey, Chloe, what are you thinking about? You're so absorbed. I called you several times and you didn't respond. Did someone steal your soul?"

I looked up and saw that it was Freya Lopez, my classmate. After graduating from university, we both applied for this company and were both hired.

Freya leaned in closer and whispered, "Did you get a response about the Original Designer Competition that you applied for?"

When Freya mentioned this, my excitement grew even stronger. "Freya, do you know? I got selected! I was chosen!"
