Chapter 5

On his way to the company, Eric happened to run into Mick.

Mick stopped him and said, "Eric."

Eric raised an eyebrow and replied, "What's the matter?"

"Last time it was my fault, but if your marriage can't continue, you should also have a peaceful separation with Cordelia."

Eric paused for a moment and nodded.

After he came to the office, he called the new assistant.

"Help me add an additional 10% of the company's shares on top of the original ones, and include the house in Cloud Manor as well."

He took out the divorce agreement from the drawer and handed it to the assistant.

It turned out that he wanted to draft a new divorce agreement.

It had to be said that in order to speed up our divorce, Eric was willing to spend a lot of money to ward off disasters.

The house that was added was worth more than ten million, and the company's ten percent stake was worth at least one billion.

It seemed that he was really willing to do anything for Lisa.

Not long after the assistant left, he received a call from the police.

"Hello, are you Eric, the husband of Cordelia Davis?"

"Yes, may I ask what the matter is?" Eric couldn't help but tighten his grip on the phone, his knuckles turning white.

"Your wife died unexpectedly, and we need you to come to the police station to handle some related matters."

He paused for a moment, his eyes empty. "Impossible."

"I am a police officer in Arizona, my badge number is xxxx, and now we need your cooperation. Please come to the police station immediately."

After hanging up the phone, he was stunned for a while, then smiled.

"Interesting." He accidentally bumped into the frame of the photo of me and him on the table, and the glass shattered.

The noise was so loud that it startled the colleagues working outside and the sparrows on the antenna pole outside the window.

He sat down on the sofa, murmuring to me in a low voice, "Cordelia, what trick is this of yours..."

He thought this was my bargaining chip to prevent him from divorcing, but he forgot that I never fight for things that don't belong to me.

He called all our mutual friends, and finally had to dial my number.

After flipping through it for a while, he found my number in the blacklist.

After tens of minutes, he confirmed that my number couldn't be reached, so he called my best friend Hailey.

"Get lost! Cordelia is dead! Dead! It's because of you that she didn't accompany her back to her hometown. She just wanted to have a proper farewell with you... But you were drinking with your friends and reveling with other women every night, and you didn't have time to accompany your wife who started from scratch with you!"

"Do you know? When she was being humiliated by a vagrant, she still called you. But what were you doing? Are you looking for her now? Are you going to find her down there?!"
