Chapter 5

When we were at the bar, Nina asked me, what was the demand for divorce?

I thought about it and said, "Get the property I deserve and let Joel's reputation be ruined."

When I returned to our home with Joel, the house was cold. After Davina passed away, Nina was worried about me living alone, so she let me move in with her.

Now that I was back home, it felt a bit unfamiliar. Seeing the divorce agreement on the dining table, it seemed that Joel had come back.

I met Joel at a debate in my junior year. We didn't know each other until we fought. He lost to me but started to pursue me like crazy.

I was an orphan, only knowing about attending classes, self-study, and working to earn money. Joel was the president of the student union, confident and sunny, at first I ignored him.

But he persevered, no matter how indifferent I was, he would not give up.

I was moved by his so-called sincerity and agreed to be together, he called me 'Jenny'.

It was not until the class reunion after graduation that I learned he had a 'first love', the beauty of the French department, Ivana.

Ivana was arranged to go abroad by her family, and they broke up.

So 'Jenny' was not the same as 'Ivana'. I was just a substitute for Ivana.

That night, I drank and fell into a deep sleep. The wind and rain outside the window, I was completely unaware.

I didn't know how long I slept, but suddenly I heard the doorbell ringing incessantly.

I opened the door. Eva? Since Davina got sick and was completely despised, I had never had a good face for this Eva.

I rolled my eyes, "What's wrong, did your grandson's celebration go wrong, so you came to question me?"

I looked at the divorce agreement on the dining table and understood in my heart, "Do you want me to sign it? When my lawyer prepares a new divorce agreement, I will send it to your son. This one doesn't count."

The old lady walked into my room rudely and started taking out the clothes from my wardrobe, throwing them on the ground.

"Our Glover family's house cannot be yours. You cannot live here for free. My precious grandson will come to live here soon, he is a strong baby, unlike that sickly child before. It's just right to get rid of the bad luck from this house."

She was so ignorant.

Before we got married, when I went back to their hometown with Joel, I had to step over a brazier and drink chicken blood before entering the house. At that time, I endured it for Joel.

Later, Nina asked me why I could tolerate his family being so strange.

Now looking at her, their family was really obsessed with the baby.

I went into the bedroom and pulled my mother-in-law into the living room, "This is my house, you have no right to touch my clothes." I used a bit of force; she couldn't stand steady and was pushed to the ground by me.

She stood up cursing and wanted to hit me. Just as her hand was about to swing, it was caught by a man's hand.

The man slapped my mother-in-law's face with his other hand, directly knocking her to the ground.

I turned around and looked at a man and a woman in front of me, surprised, and said, "Who are you?"
