Chapter 3

I realized that we can never go back to the past.

Lucas glanced at the check on the bedside table, frowned and said,

"You think it's too little?"

He added another zero to the end of the bill and then, like he had done to his former lovers, stuffed the check into my bra.

"Is that enough for now? Can you please stop making trouble?"

After doing such an insulting gesture, Lucas ignored me and said to himself,

"Tomorrow I will hold a confession ceremony for Ivy. I gave you everything when I was pursuing you, and now Ivy wants it too."

I paused, feeling a surge of pain in my heart.

I said before that I like twinkling stars.

So Lucas bought a whole nebula for me and inlaid star-shaped diamonds on the top of the tower.

At that time, there was a bustling crowd under my feet and the world was shrouded in fog.

And in front of me is a young man whose heart is filled with only me.

"Sophie, you are like my moon. Meeting you is like winter thawing, like stars forever bright."

At that moment, my heart beat suddenly accelerated and I thought I was his whole world.

But I didn't understand it until now.

This confession that had me deeply involved was nothing more than a challenging game played by Lucas.

And now, pursuing Ivy would make him feel more exciting.

He would kick me, the stumbling block, away without hesitation and repeat the past all over again!

"Just do it if you want to, why tell me..."

I spoke in a hoarse voice.

"Because, of course, you have to participate."

Lucas said calmly, then turned and left.

I didn't understand what he meant until the next day at the Wentworth Gala.

The entire building was decorated as the Medieval Castle Ballroom, and all the waiters and guests were dressed up as fairy tale characters.

Lucas, who used to wear the most serious and dull clothes, was now wearing a prince's suit and holding the hand of Ivy, who was wearing a princess dress, with great love.

"Ivy, you will always be my little princess. Since you like fairy tales, I will create a fairy tale world just for you."

Lucas gently kissed the back of Ivy's hand, then drew the sword from his waist and pointed it in my direction.

"Next, let me teach this wicked hag who always bullies you a lesson!"

I was stunned, and the next second, the servant behind me suddenly and forcefully put a gray cloth garment on me.

Then he pulled my hair into a mess, scribbled a lot of black moles on my face, and pushed me out!

I fell right at Ivy's feet.

Suddenly, there were mocking voices coming from my ears.

"Hahaha, isn't that Sophie? Our Lucas dotes on Miss Young too much. He actually makes her a princess and his wife the wicked hag!"

"Yeah, yeah, everyone says Lucas dotes on his wife, but now it seems that Sophie can't even compare to Miss Young by a hair!"

"Tsk, didn't you notice that Miss Young and Sophie look 70% alike? It turns out that Lucas doesn't like Sophie as a person, but just her face!"

I fell to the ground, my face as pale as paper.

In order to please Ivy, Lucas humiliated me like this!

Tears welled up in my eyes as I remembered someone once said that I relied on men to get to the top. When Lucas found out, he immediately banned that person from the entire industry.

He said that seeing me suffer injustice was more painful than killing him.

But now, he has personally inflicted the greatest injustice on me!

I almost subconsciously wanted to escape from here.

But suddenly, Ivy exclaimed,
