Back to Before My Husband Was Bound by the SAT Score Change System
Chapter 2
Knowing that I would be tutoring her, Miya looked very reluctant.
She was standing at the door, biting her sleeve, with a look of shyness and a hint of foxiness for her young age.
"Uncle Ted, I'm scared. Does Mrs. Smith not like my mom or me? I'm afraid she will deliberately not teach me well."
Ted crouched down next to Miya and gently comforted her. "Of course not, Yori's mom is a science and engineering master's degree holder. If she can't teach you well, then all her studying would be in vain. I will scold her and even hit her. You don't have to worry about that."
Miya was still hesitant. "What about Yori? She studies so well, is she looking down on me?"
Ted's brows twitched when he heard that.
"Yori, come here! You little brat, what are you pretending to be high and mighty for? You dare to give Miya a hard time, and I'll break your legs!"
Yori was scared by her father's outburst and her face turned pale. She looked to me for help.
Ted was about to say something more, but I glared at him and protected Yori.
"What are you showing off to the kids for? Since Miya walked into this house, has Yori said a single word? If you don't want me to tutor Miya, you can just hire a tutor outside. It's not expensive, just one or two thousand dollars per lesson. Do you want me to contact a tutor?"
Ted immediately calmed down.
Miya's mother was a scatterbrain and she wouldn't pay for anything. Ted's salary barely covered his own expenses, and the only valuable things we had in our family were the houses.
So when it came to money, Ted had to rely on me.
"Don't get angry. I'm just giving the kids a heads-up."
Hmph, Ted pushed Miya to the door of the study room and told her to study hard.
The two of them looked at each other, with tears in their eyes, as if Miya was about to be eaten by me.
I couldn't help but mock him, "You didn't have this look on Yori's first day of elementary school. Come on, Ted, your Princess Miya is already 18 years old. She is an adult. If she doesn't come in to study soon, she won't pass the SAT."
Ted finally let go.
He bought Miya a smartwatch and told her to call him immediately if she felt tired. He would come back immediately no matter how far away.
Yori saw this and her eyes darkened. Ted had never even bought a gift for Yori since she was young!
Old jerk, you wait, you hurt Yori's heart. But when you're at your worst, will your Miya even look at you then?
