Chapter 2

I found Aaron's room, knocked on the door and went in.

Although Aaron disliked me, he never looked down on me. In my previous life, he was one of the few people who were willing to help me.

I came in and said directly, "Lend me some money, I will pay you back as soon as possible."

"Why do you need to borrow money?"

"To move out sooner and not upset you guys, I need to do something."

Aaron sighed helplessly and lent me a tens of thousand dollars.

With the money in hand, I boarded the car back to my home in the slums.

No one asked me where I was going.

My mother, Lisa, was bullied by my grandmother and worked hard from morning to night.

My father, Mike, was an alcoholic and a gambler who lost all the money Lisa earned.

After I left in my previous life, I no longer cared about anything here, because I wasn’t living well myself and should cut off ties with the slums.

But in my previous life, Lisa helped me many times when I was in the most difficult times and asked me to take good care of myself.

She is my real mother.

I found Lisa working in the fields. She was still sad that I was taken away, and she was particularly happy to see me.

"Rachel, I'm glad you're okay. Just live your good life and don't worry about me." This is what a mother should be.

While Mike was still drinking, I secretly took Lisa away and rented a house for her in the city.

I told her to live a good life here and not go back. I gave her some money and promised to visit her in the future.

I then quietly returned to the old house and went up the mountain at night to gather some American ginsengs.

After I married into the Whitman family in my previous life, this mountain was discovered to be a treasure mountain.

My family suddenly had some money, and Lisa quickly sent me a little as my marriage gift.

However, the remaining money was gambled away by Mike the next day.

This time I found the mountain in advance. I will use it as my capital to make money and find a way to exchange some money for myself before it is discovered by others.

In the evening, I returned to the downtown again.

I sneaked into a pharmacy that I knew in my previous life. I heard about this pharmacy when John took me to an upper-class social event.

The boss of this pharmacy is not an ordinary person and I cannot afford to offend him.

I remember that he was always searching for high-quality American ginsengs.

I came in with American ginsengs and found the boss.

"I want to do business with you."

The boss was smiling and looked like a very shrewd person.

"Girl, what business?" He smiled and looked behind the counter, but I didn't care.

"I have some top-quality American ginsengs. I would like to cooperate with you and supply you with them regularly. I don't know anything about medicine, but you have to give me a good price."

"And I have another request. Can you pay me in cash right away?" I rubbed my fingers. Doing business here is like pulling teeth from a tiger's mouth.

After all, the Whitman family had always wanted to please the pharmacy's boss in my previous life but had failed.

The boss smiled and said, "Show me the American ginsengs."

I handed one over, and he stood up and walked to the back and asked me to wait.

After a while, he returned with a stack of cash, more than I had expected.

"Girl, I will buy them. From now on, I'll take whatever you have. I will never treat you unfairly."

I counted the money, waved goodbye and left quickly.

I finally have the capital to support myself.

When I walked into the house, everyone was sitting in the living room waiting for me.

"Where have you been?" William looked at me seriously.

"I'm new here, so I'm looking around."

"Impolite. Teach her some manners so she doesn't embarrass me." After saying that, he got up and left.

I had known that I need to learn something again.

In my previous life, I wanted to quickly enter the circle of celebrities, and I had to learn music, chess and painting so that I could marry a good man.

These skills are good, but the children of wealthy families have been learning them since childhood. No matter how hard I try, I can't catch up with them.

I was laughed at by other rich families' daughters for a long time, and they said I was imitating others poorly.

"Give me the money and I'll learn skills myself."

As expected, Victoria and Aaron laughed at me, and I still couldn’t get the money.

"Give you money? But you've never seen the big world, so you'll definitely spend it recklessly. Just tell me what you want to learn."

It seems that I have no choice but to learn.

After meeting John in the previous life, I learned a lot of entertainment skills in order to help him win over business partners.

"Car racing, equestrian, archery and golf. I want to learn these."

Monica, Aaron and Victoria were shocked.

The reason why I want to learn these skills is that they can help me build my own network.

They can also keep me healthy and make money at the same time.
