Chapter 4

Under the excuse of giving my husband a chance to rest better and letting my parents help with the baby, I decided to move back to my parents' house for a while.

Amy was overjoyed when she heard the news.

"That's the spirit! A little girl isn't worth much. Better to have a son soon to carry on the family name!"

Her words were so infuriating I nearly shoved a diaper in her mouth.

I thought, She keeps calling my daughter useless, but doesn't she stop to think that she is a woman herself? Is she rejecting my daughter or just expressing her own self-loathing? Pathetic!

But I didn't have time to argue with a fool.

Suppressing my burning anger, I took care of something important before leaving the house.
