His Secret Mistress, My Silent Revenge

9.1 / 10.0
I once possessed the perfect existence: a thriving business, a devoted husband, and absolute security. That illusion shattered when I discovered a pregnant woman in my home, supposedly carrying my husband's child. Yet, as I dig deeper, I realize this mistress is only the beginning of a far more dangerous conspiracy. Reclaiming my life means unearthing lethal secrets and facing deadly betrayals. My enemies underestimate what I am truly capable of, and they are about to find out.

His Secret Mistress, My Silent Revenge Chapter 1

“You think I wouldn’t find out, Nathan?” I spat, my voice trembling. “You think I’m some naïve fool? I mean, what more could I have expected from some mama’s boy?”

Nathan Averisky, my husband of six years, stood by the fireplace, his jaw tight and eyes cold. He didn’t look like the man I had fallen in love with. He looked like a stranger– unbothered, and cruel.

“You’re overreacting,” he said, his tone clipped. “This isn’t the time or place for one of your scenes, Alina.”

My laugh was sharp, slicing through the tension. “A scene? Is that what you call this? You think I’m creating drama because I walked into my home and found your mother parading some pregnant girl around like she’s the queen of this house?”

Nathan’s silence was damning. He didn’t deny it. Instead, he turned his gaze to the fireplace, his lips pressed into a thin line. That was all the confirmation I needed.

“You disgust me,” I hissed, my voice breaking. “I gave you everything. My trust, my love, my company. I trusted you with my entire life, and this is how you repay me?”

“Stop playing the victim,” Nathan snapped, finally meeting my gaze. “You signed the company over to me because you wanted to. No one forced you. And as for the…situation with Clara, it’s not as black and white as you’re making it out to be.”

“Clara?” I repeated, my voice rising. “You mean the girl you knocked up while I was here, fighting for us? While I was defending you against everyone who said I was making a mistake marrying you?”

Before Nathan could respond, another voice cut through the air like a whip. “Enough, Alina.”

My head snapped toward the entrance of the room, where Margaret Averisky, my mother-in-law, stood with Clara at her side. Margaret’s usual warmth was gone, replaced by a cold disdain that sent a chill down my spine.

“You have no right to come into this house and speak to my son like this,” Margaret said, her tone icy. “After everything Nathan has done for you, you should be grateful.”

My eyes widened in disbelief. “Grateful? Are you serious? I’ve been nothing but loyal to this family, to Nathan. I built my company from the ground up, and I handed it over to him out of love. And now you’re standing here, defending him for betraying me?”

Margaret’s lips curled into a sneer. “Love? Don’t be naïve, Alina. You couldn’t even give Nathan a child. What did you think was going to happen? That he’d wait forever while you focused on your business and ignored your duties as his wife?”

The words hit me like a physical blow, and for a moment, I couldn’t breathe. I felt the sting of tears but refused to let them fall. I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of seeing me break.

“You were waiting for this, weren’t you?” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. “ You just pretended to care because you wanted my company in this family’s name. And now that you have it, you’ve shown your true colors.”

Margaret didn’t deny it. Instead, she gave a small, cruel smile. “You were useful while you lasted. But Nathan deserves someone who can give him a family. Clara can do that.”

I turned my gaze to Clara, who had been silent this entire time. The younger woman looked uncomfortable, her hands fidgeting with the hem of her dress. But I didn’t care.

“And you?” I said, my voice sharper now. “You’re okay with being paraded around like a trophy while this man still has a wife?”

Clara opened her mouth to respond, but Margaret cut in. “Clara doesn’t owe you an explanation. She’s carrying Nathan’s child, and that’s all that matters.”

My marriage, my sacrifices, my love—all of it had been a lie. I had been a pawn in their game, and now that they had what they wanted, they were discarding me like trash.

“I want a divorce,” I said suddenly, my voice steady despite the chaos in my heart.

Nathan’s head snapped up, surprise flickering across his face for the first time that night. “Don’t be ridiculous, Alina. We can work this out.”

“Do you have a butt for a brain?” I repeated, laughing bitterly. “You think I’m going to stay in this house, in this sham of a marriage, while you play house with her?”

“Be reasonable,” Nathan said, stepping toward me. “The media…it’ll be a disaster. We can’t afford that kind of scandal.”

I took a step back, my eyes blazing. “You should have thought about that before you decided to humiliate me.”

Margaret’s voice cut through the tension again. “If you think you’re walking away with anything, you’re mistaken. That company belongs to Nathan now. You signed it over, remember?”

I had been a fool, blinded by love and trust, but if they thought I would walk away with nothing, they were sorely mistaken.

“Watch me,” I said, my voice like steel.

Before anyone could respond, I turned on my heel and stormed out of the room. They had taken everything from me, but I wasn’t going to let them win.

As I reached the grand staircase, I heard Margaret’s voice behind me. “You’re nothing without us, Alina. You’ll come crawling back. Mark my words.”

I paused, my hand gripping the banister. Without turning around, I said, “You’ve underestimated me, Margaret. That’s your first mistake.”

And with that, I ascended the stairs, my mind already forming a plan. I didn’t know what the future held, but one thing was certain: I wasn’t going down without a fight.

In my bedroom, I closed the door and leaned against it. I pulled out my phone and dialed a number I hadn’t called in years. When the line connected, a deep, familiar voice answered.

“Alina? Is everything okay?”

My voice was steady, my resolve firm. “I need your help. It’s time to take back what’s mine.”
