My high-speed train seat was taken.

I said, "6A by the window is my seat. Please move."

The guy sitting on the outside looked up at me and said, "Sorry, we are police escorting a suspect. Can you switch seats?"

The next second, the suspect looked up.

It was the jerk senior who scammed me out of five thousand dollars.

Without hesitation, I opened the coffee cup lid and splashed it at the jerk senior, gritting my teeth. "Take that! See how I deal with you!"

Before I finished speaking, two six-foot guys stood up suddenly. The guy on the outside first knocked the coffee from my hand, then glared at me with sharp eyes.

His look scared me, and my hands started shaking.

"Miss, do you want a tour of the police station?" His voice was extremely stern, with an undeniable authority.

I swallowed and said, "No... He scammed me out of money, officer. I want to report him!"

He raised an eyebrow. "We can talk things out. Please don't interfere with our duties." He paused and added, "I'll switch seats with you to 7F. Please cooperate."

I took my bag and sat at 7F. Luckily, the seats were close.

I could see the jerk senior who scammed me five thousand dollars just by turning my head. He used to be flashy, but now he looked like a scoundrel.

After I sat down, people around me gave me strange looks.

I regretted my actions earlier and took out tissues to wipe the coffee off the floor.

But I saw the officer who scolded me had already started cleaning.

His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, revealing tanned skin. His arms were smoothly muscular and strong. His movements were calm and steady.

I smiled awkwardly. "Sorry, sir, for causing you trouble."

He took a deep breath. "How old are you?"

I didn't understand his question but answered anyway, "I'm twenty-three."

The officer chuckled, clearly a fake smile. "I'm twenty-five."

After speaking, he finished wiping the last spot and sat properly in his seat.

I was about to apologize.

"Little girl over there, don't squat. Move aside," the staff said.

There were scattered laughs around. Great, another socially embarrassing day.

The scenery outside sped by. The attendant pushed the cart to the next carriage.

The officer stood in the aisle.

"You said you were scammed out of five thousand dollars earlier? Can you come to our station to make a report? If convenient, leave a contact number for follow-up."

"Can I add you on WhatsApp? Send me the address so I can check the distance."

He hesitated for a moment, then handed me his phone.

He wore a mask, revealing only his eyes. His tone was very gentle, completely different from his earlier stern demeanor.

After adding him, he lowered his gaze and asked, "What's your name?"

"Zoe Harris," I answered.

He seemed to realize something and exclaimed, "Zoe?"
