Her Scars, My Agony

When I opened my eyes again, I was lying in a familiar hospital bed.

Just like in my previous life, the doctor’s diagnosis was an “acute phantom pain episode.”

“You absolutely cannot let yourself get so stressed again,” the doctor warned me sternly.

But I knew better than anyone that I hadn’t been injured at all last night. There was no reason for my condition to be this severe.

I stayed in the clinic for three days before being discharged.

The moment I got out, I didn’t hesitate. I used the family’s name to have Isabella “invited” over.

In an abandoned wine cellar on the outskirts of the city, I pulled the black hood off her head. Alarm flashed across Isabella’s face.

“Miss Alessia, what is this? Why have you kidnapped me?”

I had no patience for her games. I pointed to a row of torture instruments beside her and looked at her coldly. “Isabella, I’m asking you one last time. What have you done to me? Why is it that whenever you get hurt, I’m the one who suffers?”

I stared at her, watching for the slightest flicker of expression on her face.

However, Isabella suddenly let out a cold laugh. “Alessia, I think you’ve truly lost your mind. I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m warning you, let me go now, or the Don will make you pay.”

Her fearless attitude enraged me. I snatched an iron rod from the floor and brandished it in front of her. “Are you going to talk, or do I have to make you?”

The iron rod glinted menacingly, but Isabella’s gaze went past me, fixed on something behind me.

I whipped around, and a familiar figure made my blood run cold.

Alessandro was here.

Before I could react, he lunged forward and roughly shoved me to the ground.

On the drive back to the estate, Alessandro was silent, his face as cold as iron.

The car stopped at his headquarters. He dragged both me and Isabella into the training ground.

Inside, the family’s best Soldati were already standing in formation.

Alessandro looked at me like a judge about to pass sentence. “On the call the other day, you were so certain that Isabella’s injuries were making you sick, weren’t you? Fine. Today, in front of all the Capos, I’ll see for myself whether you’re faking it or not.”
