Chapter 1

My husband, Adrian Sinclair, seemed to be cheating on me.

After seeing this, my mother-in-law, Linda Taylor, yelled at me, "It's all because you don't usually dress up!"

The next day, she received photos of my father-in-law, Ryan Sinclair, with young girls.

Then she came to me crying and asked me to help her get a divorce.

Every family had its conflicts.

As a senior lawyer who graduated from the University of Political Science and Law, I never expected that one day I would have to help Linda with a divorce lawsuit.

The story began three days ago.

After marrying into a wealthy family last year, I had to accompany my mother-in-law shopping.

Actually, I didn't like shopping.

But Linda couldn't stand the fact that I always wore dark suits, and she insisted on taking me shopping with her.

It was called cultivating my aesthetic faculties.

"Linda, I have something to do at the company. I'll ask the driver to pick you up."

After walking around for an hour, I really couldn't stand it anymore and found an excuse to leave.

I looked at the fair-skinned, beautiful and charming woman in front of me. Linda was really beautiful.

She was as beautiful in her 40s as a girl in her 20s.

"No, hurry up and pick out some clothes. You keep dressing like an old woman. Adrian will be back in a couple of days. If you don't dress up, he will be seduced by another girl."

Again. It was the same theory again that if I didn't dress up Adrian would be seduced.

I didn't understand her thoughts. I married Adrian because we have the same values and ideas.

And there was the affection we had during our four years together in college.

It was never because of external or family conditions.

I rubbed my eyebrows and walked outside.

As soon as I walked out the door, I saw a couple talking and laughing in the jewelry store next door, and my mind went blank for a moment.

"Mia, what are you doing outside..."

I didn't expect Linda's words to come true so soon.

Adrian was shopping in a jewelry store with a young woman, who even tapped him on the head affectionately.

The atmosphere between the two was indescribably harmonious and intimate.

I wanted to walk towards that direction but Linda grabbed my arm.

I looked at her in confusion as she grabbed my hand.

"Linda, what are you doing?"

"Don't fight. It will be so embarrassing for you to go there now..."

I found it funny looking at Linda's guilty and helpless expression.

"Linda, I just went over to check the situation."

I believed in Adrian in my heart. He wouldn't cheat.

I always thought it was better to be direct.

It was better to face the problem rather than making groundless guesses and causing misunderstandings. This situation did not necessarily mean that Adrian was cheating.

But looking at Linda's guilty expression, it seemed that Adrian had been convicted.

In this stalemate, they got on the elevator and left.

I looked at Linda who was holding my arm tightly and didn't force her.

I would ask him when we got home in the evening.

"It's all your fault for not dressing up normally. He cheated on you!"

I was speechless when I saw her expression of disappointment.

Linda had accused her son of cheating before anything was confirmed.

I didn't know if it was out of guilt or some other emotion that afternoon.

She bought me a bunch of clothes, shoes, and bags, and also went to a jewelry store.

She didn't buy anything herself.

I refused in vain, so I had to accompany her silently until dark.

At 7 p.m., I had just come out of the shower when I heard a rapid knock on the door.

I opened the door. Before I could say anything, a soft body with a fruity smell hugged me.

"Mia, your father-in-law has cheated on me..."

I was hugged so tightly that I didn't react for a moment, and I didn't hear clearly what she said.

All I could hear was the crying.

I pulled up her slipped shoulder strap and asked helplessly.

"Linda, what's wrong again?"
