Chapter 5

Jordan and Laura left the classroom side by side. Vivien said helplessly.

"What? Are we really going shopping today?"

I put my arm around Vivien's neck and said, "Hey, we've put on makeup today, so why not go shopping? I'll treat you to lunch! Didn't you say you ran out of facial masks last time? Let's go buy some new!"

Vivien shrugged. "Let's go. Jordan doesn't look like a good person. If he knew we lied to him, he would retaliate!"

I was pleased with Vivien's awareness, and the two of us took a taxi directly to the pedestrian street.

I walked out of the fitting room and angrily put the pair of jeans I had just tried on back on the hanger.

"Damn, I can't wear it. Clothes are getting smaller and smaller nowadays!"

I looked at Vivien. She was watching a short video with a serious expression. When she saw me coming over, she turned the screen to face me.

"Look, it's located in our university. Was it sent by Laura?"

I picked up her phone and saw that the video she was playing had already reached over a million views, with over two hundred thousand likes and over one hundred thousand comments.

The video content was a girl playing basketball from behind, and the video was tagged: [Girls can be handsome, too.]

The text was even funnier: [Today, I took a class with my good friend who plays basketball, and his girlfriend wouldn’t let me sit next to him, so I was punished to stand for the whole class. It was so unfair.]

The comments were all cursing the boy’s girlfriend, and some were comforting her.

[Girl will feel wronged. Why did she be bullied like this? ]

[Can that woman just go to hell? The seats in the classroom belong to everyone. Why can't the girl be allowed to sit?]

Of course there were a few exceptions.

[Am I the only one who thinks the owner of this video is cheap? The girl just wants her boyfriend to keep his distance from other girls...]

However, the comment was quickly drowned out by more abusive comments.

At first, I thought this was not Laura until I clicked on her homepage, scrolled to the bottom, and saw the two retouched selfies. I could vaguely recognize her.

In the comment section of that rarely viewed video, I saw a familiar account, which was Jordan.

He commented with an emoji.

It was so funny. I didn’t find these in my previous life. I really found something new.

"It seems that it is really her. Laura distorted the facts too much." Vivien curled her lips.

I took out my phone, found the video, and commented.

[Hi, everyone. I am the girlfriend of the boy mentioned by the video subject. We had class together this morning and I kindly and clearly stated that she could sit next to my boyfriend, not like what she said in the copy.]

Since others had slandered me, of course I had to clarify myself.

After commenting, I calmly continued shopping with Vivien, completely forgetting about it.

At noon, I took Vivien to a newly opened barbecue restaurant, and after the meal, we bought some skin care products together.

It was almost sunset in the afternoon when we returned to university carrying our bags. Everything seemed normal.

But when I returned to the dormitory, I felt the hostile looks from my roommates.

I was a little confused and thought it was my illusion. I smiled and shared the extra drinks with them, but no one paid any attention to me.

I looked at them in confusion. After several minutes, the dormitory head couldn't help but speak.

"Simona, everyone treats you as a friend, but I didn't expect you to be such a person!"

I was even more at a loss and had no idea what she was talking about.

After being stunned for ten seconds, I suddenly thought of something, and quickly took out my mobile phone and found Laura's video.

It was shocking.

The popularity of the video had reached an unprecedented high.

There were many unfriendly comments from netizens under my comment.

[Are you okay? If you hadn't stopped the girl from sitting down, would she have been punished to stand? ]

[It's obvious that this woman is a habitual offender. She doesn't even think before she lies.]

[Your selfies on your homepage are so pretty. How can you be so mean? ]

I wanted to clarify, but I couldn't refute it.

Just because of the popularity that Laura brought me, my account gained more than ten thousand followers, all of whom were there to curse me in private messages.

Suddenly, I was subjected to so much hostility from netizens, and my head was a little buzzing.

However, since I had evidence, as long as I am reasonable, I believed that netizens would not be aggressive.

Just as I was about to write the clarification copy, the phone rang unexpectedly.

Almost everyone in the dormitory turned their heads towards me as if they were watching a fun event. I looked at them and then immediately looked away.
