Chapter 6

I sneered, "Who do you think you are? What qualifications do you have to tell me what to do?"

Before, it was because of Vincent’s comments that he always instilled in me the idea that I was not worthy.

Gradually, I began to feel that I was unworthy.

But he forgot that all these assets were earned by me.

I earn my own money, so I can spend it however I want.

“Emily, that dress just doesn't suit you. Some people could wear a crown and still look like a pauper.”

Scarlett pretended to be kind and took a step forward. "How about I help you pick out two suitable ones?"

Scarlett always likes to pretend to be gentle and considerate in front of outsiders in order to win people's hearts.

I refused coldly, "No need to bother you. The saleslady just said that I look good in this outfit, and I am very satisfied with it."

I took out my bank card and said, "Check out."

Vincent's face suddenly changed and he stepped forward to stop me.

"Emily, why are you so extravagant with your money now?"

"Have you forgotten how hard it is to sell crepes outside? A set of crepes only costs $10. How many sets of crepes do you have to buy to earn enough money for this set of clothes?"

"Besides, don't we have clothes to wear at home? Don't buy it if you can."

I coldly shook off his hand and my eyes fell on the shopping bags in Scarlett's hands.

"So you have money to buy it for other women, but no money to buy it for your own wife?"

"Vincent, don't forget who earned this money. Don't think that just because you are wearing a suit and look respectable, you have forgotten who you are."

Vincent's face turned increasingly pale.

But I ignored him and left with my packed shopping bags, going to several shopping malls in one go.

Shopping really makes people happy, especially when you spend your own money, which gives you a sense of accomplishment and pleasure.

The next day I slept until I woke up naturally, and Vincent cooked and prepared breakfast for me.

When he urged me to get up and eat for the third time, the lawyer had already sent me the electronic version of the Prenuptial Agreement. I went to the study to print it out and handed it to Vincent.

"signature."

Vincent took a look, frowned, and refused to sign.

"Emily, stop messing around."

Vincent sighed helplessly, "We are an old married couple, and we are still getting divorced. Wouldn't that make people laugh at us?"

"Besides, our family can't live without you, Emily, and I can't live without you either."

Vincent took out a gift box from behind and handed it to me.

"I forgot your birthday yesterday. I'm giving you this gift today as compensation."

Before I could say anything, Vincent took the initiative to open the gift box.

"Look at this beautiful necklace. I know you'll like it."

Inside was a cheap turquoise bracelet that looked like something you would buy at a street stall for just a few dozen dollars.

I couldn't help but sneer in my heart. The gift I gave to Scarlett was jewelry worth tens of thousands of dollars.

They just randomly gave me a fake gift, thinking that I would be grateful.

Seeing that I didn't move, Vincent took out the necklace and stood up.

"If you like it, I'll put it on you. Wear this necklace when you sell French crepes, and the customers will definitely praise you for being pretty."

I avoided it coldly, "No need, give it to Scarlett."

Vincent froze for a moment, "No, she doesn't like this style."

"This was originally meant for you..."

Just then, his cell phone suddenly rang.

Seeing the caller ID, Vincent answered without hesitation, "Scarlett, what's going on?"
