He Left His Family for His Mistress

My mother-in-law thought that what my father and his illegitimate daughter were asking for was for a mistress to rise to the top. But, we didn't expect that after five years, she would come back to steal my husband from me.

“Rebecca, I really don't know that she is so greedy. I just think that Benedict will love and appreciate you more one day and you two will live happily ever after without any third party like this.”

I looked at Liliana quietly and smiled ruefully. For the past five years, I felt that she treated me like her own daughter. But the cruel truth made her good to me, all tasteless.

My mother-in-law trembled as she took out a yellowed divorce agreement from her bag. She stuffed it into my hand.

“Rebecca, I know that paper can't wrap fire after all. Once you know the truth it's impossible for you to stay!”

I signed the divorce agreement. Then I hugged Eugene's cold body so tight. We then got into the car to go to the funeral home.

I went home with Eugene's urn. The movement of opening the door disturbed the entangled man and woman on the sofa.

Benedict gathered Adelaide's scattered clothes for her. He said carelessly, “I thought you weren't coming back today, Rebecca.”

I didn't want Eugene to be dirty by the mess on the floor. So, I held the urn tightly back to the bedroom. Benedict was ignored, wrinkled his eyebrows and looked at the door. He was not waiting for the expected figure.

Benedict suddenly asked, “Did you leave Eugene with my mother again? You hurry to pick him up and apologize now. I won't care about his mistake of frightening his aunt, Rebecca.”

His patronizing tone made me feel nothing but amusement. I asked in my heart, ‘An illegitimate daughter who killed my mother and son and stole my identity is also worthy of being my son's aunt?’

I slowly raised my eyes and stared at him. I then took a breath for a while.

I then said clearly to him, “Eugene is dead, Benedict.”

Benedict was stunned for a moment after hearing my words. His eyes burned with anger.

Benedict immediately called the old mansion. He wanted to ask the servant to send Eugene back.
