He Cried and Begged Me To Forgive Him Chapter 1
I'm an entertainment reporter.
While tailing the famous star Emily Collins, I caught her having a late-night rendezvous with a mysterious guy.
Turns out, that mystery man was my boyfriend, Jack Turner.
He ordered his goons to smash my DSLR camera.
My hand got hurt, the pain was unbearable.
He coldly said, "Next time, I’ll break both your hands."
Later, I had a miscarriage and ended up in critical condition.
Despite not believing in gods, he knelt and prayed for my safety all night.
When I woke up, he looked at me with red eyes and asked,
"Grace, can we start over?"
My apprentice, Alex Johnson, and I were hiding in the bushes outside a high-end club.
Only members could get in.
I got some insider info.
Tonight, the popular actress Emily Collins would be dining here.
Rumor had it, Emily’s sudden rise to fame was backed by a powerful benefactor.
Every media outlet was eager to break the story and grab the headlines.
But Miss Collins had some serious backing.
So far, no one had figured out who her benefactor was.
My boss gave me an ultimatum--find out who it was, or get fired.
Alex and I had been staking out for almost five hours.
Light rain began to fall.
Finally, our patience paid off; a Maybach pulled up at the entrance.
The doorman opened the car door,
and Emily Collins, in a sleek, dark green dress, stepped out.
She was drop-dead gorgeous.
On the other side, a tall man in black also got out, but an umbrella obscured his face.
I stifled my excitement and snapped photos like crazy.
The man walked around the back of the car and stood next to Emily, lifting the umbrella with one hand and gently placing the other on her shoulder, pulling her under the umbrella with him.
My excited grin froze.
Alex saw the man's face and blurted out, "Holy crap, boss, even sugar daddies are this hot now!"
We still got busted.
The bodyguards dragged us into a private room in the restaurant.
Jack Turner was lounging back in his chair, legs crossed, looking all devil-may-care.
When he saw me, a flicker of surprise crossed his lazy expression.
But the next second, he glanced at Emily Collins, almost like he was worried she’d find out about us, as if afraid she would know about our relationship.
The bodyguards snatched our cameras and smashed them to pieces with a hammer.
Jack tossed a bank card on the floor indifferently, saying, "There’s enough money here to buy ten cameras."
Alex was shaking with fear.
My heart ached; I just wanted to get out of there.
I picked up the card and sneered, “Thanks, Mr. Turner, for upgrading our magazine’s equipment.”
I pulled Alex to leave, but Emily Collins slowly said, “I remember, phones also have a camera.”
The bodyguards immediately understood and snatched my phone.
I shouted, “No!”
They didn’t listen and raised the hammer again.
In a moment of panic, I shielded the phone with my hands.
The hammer came down hard on the back of my hand.
I let out a piercing scream and fell to the ground.
The overwhelming pain hit me like a tidal wave, and tears flowed uncontrollably.
The next second, the bodyguard was kicked away.
The air was eerily quiet.
The bodyguard lay on the ground, looking confusedly at the dark-faced Jack.
Jack's deep voice broke the silence.
"John, take Grace to the hospital!"
