Give My Fiancé to His First Love Chapter 1

I took Lucy Hall, my mom, back to my hometown in the countryside, but she suddenly had a heart attack.

There was no hospital nearby, and I didn't know how to drive.

My only hope was that Scott Wilcher, my fiancé, would send his personal doctor over.

Yet he never fulfilled his promise, not even after my mom died.

As my mom was dying, I called him twenty times in a row.

After dealing with my mom's funeral, I saw him in the news.

The old illness of Viola Quinn, his first love, flared up. He called all the doctors in town overnight for a consultation.

My phone slipped from my cheek and fell into the soft soil.

Trembling, I typed a few words and sent them.

"Let's cancel our engagement."

After I sent the message, I felt that I had lost every bit of the strength I had.

I had never thought that we'd end up like this.

I loved Scott for five entire years.

I chased after him for five years.

If everyone had a crush when they were young, then he was my crush.

I did everything I could just to stand by his side.

However, he was the Prince Charming in New York, and he was so dazzling.

His excellence made it impossible for me to hide my humbleness and cowardice.

Yet just as I was about to give up, he threw me an olive branch.

We broke through the barrier between ranks and became a couple.

We had been together for a year, and we had never quarreled.

For all the problems we had, I blamed myself.

I must have been the humblest woman in the world.

I didn't even ask him to meet my mom for our engagement, even though it was a big matter.

I was afraid that it'd delay his work.

This was the only time I took the initiative to call him.

I hoped my mom could make it, and I put all my hopes on his personal doctor.

And this was what I got!

Mom was the only family I had. When I was trying to win Scott's heart, she was the only one who was there for me.

As I was lost in thought, my tears fell silently on the ground in front of the tombstone.

Mom, would you still be alive today if I had a boyfriend who was just an ordinary person?

All that answered me was the howling wind of the mountains.

I stood up trembling while holding my knees.

I waited on the side of the highway for two hours before I got on a bus.

The smell in the car made me sick. I tried my best to endure, and my face was ghastly pale.

I had a long ride before going back to my wedding house with Scott. In the next second, I saw Viola, who was allegedly critically ill in the news, holding the coffee pot I had bought as if she were the hostess.

With a triumphant smile, she poured herself a cup of coffee and drank it up.

When she passed by me, she hit my shoulder hard.

She didn't look sick at all.

I barely managed to stabilize myself, and I was so angry that I was shaking all over.

Why is she here? Why is she wearing my clothes? Why does she look fine when it's said she was critically ill?

I didn't ask any of these questions out loud. What was the point? The truth was self-evident.

I grabbed a few of my important things and headed out.

Yet I saw Scott standing by the car, and Viola in his arms was crying so hard that she could barely breathe.

He looked at her with distress, and when he looked at me, there was nothing but impatience in his gaze.

"Why are you back?"

I sneered. Looking at his face, which I used to love so wholeheartedly, I said coldly and sharply.

"I came back at the wrong time. Sorry for the intrusion."

He heard my words, and his gaze turned gloomy at once. Viola, who was in his arms, sobbed.

"I'm sorry... It's all my fault. My mom shouldn't have fallen ill last night. Don't blame Scott..."

"The reporters got it wrong. It was Jade Parsons, Viola's foster mom, who fell sick."

Scott frowned even more tightly, but it seemed he was explaining to me.

I clenched my fists tightly under my sleeves, and my voice trembled imperceptibly.

"Yeah. I get it. She's your mom-in-law, and of course, you should impress her."

As soon as I finished speaking, his expression completely froze.

"Really? Do you have to be so sarcastic? Didn't I send a doctor for your mom before?"

I looked straight at him, my gaze mocking.

Yes, he did send a doctor for my mom. And the drugs the doctor prescribed her could be bought from any pharmacy on the street.

What was more, he got the doctor from some unknown hospital. I even wondered if the doctor was a professional.

Well, that made sense. After all, Viola was his first love.

Compared to her, I was nothing.

I walked past him with a cold face.

Perhaps it was because of my indifferent attitude that was completely different from usual. Anyway, the anger in Scott's eyes suddenly vanished.

It was the first time I behaved so calmly when seeing those two together.

I was, in fact, deadly calm.

I had barely taken a few steps when Scott grabbed my wrist with such great force that I was almost gritting my teeth.

"Laura, what's wrong with you today? The doctor gave Lucy enough pills last time. Now that she's sick, take pills! Viola lost Jade, her foster mom, OK?

"Stop acting out, will you?"

I was expressionless, but my eyes were sore.

"Yeah. She lost her foster mom. How pitiful."

My cold attitude stunned him.

To my surprise, he grabbed my arms and said with patience.

"Jade was the only family she had, and she's been suffering from depression. You know all these, don't you? We'll be family in the future. I'll take Lucy to the best doctors in the country, OK?"

Tears welled up in my eyes, and my vision blurred.

I said, "No need."

Then I broke free from his grasp and left quickly.

He ran out of patience and shouted at my back, "I'll reach out to the doctors now. Happy? You should feel lucky. They haven't left yet after last night's consultation. Can you stop messing around?"

For the first time in the year we had been together, he compromised.

But it was too late.

I took out my phone and sent him another message to cancel the engagement.

Behind me, Scott called his assistant the moment he received the text.

"Tell the experts to stay when they wake up. I'll send you a medical record. Ask them to take a look."
