From Now On, I Won’t Love Him Anymore
Chapter 1
My fiancé was the shining star of the entertainment world. I was his manager and also his girlfriend, who was hidden from the public.
When I found out I was pregnant, he agreed for the first time to officially announce our relationship, but he kicked me out of the car halfway.
"Lily's dog was about to give birth. You know how anxious she gets. She needs me with her."
Under the sweltering heat of nearly 40 degrees Celsius, I couldn't find a cab and ended up collapsing from heatstroke, leading to a miscarriage.
I was sent to the hospital by a kind-hearted passerby. In the hospital, I saw my fiancé accompanying Lily Swain for a prenatal check-up.
In that moment, my heart shattered. With trembling hands, I dialed a number.
"Anderson, I need to ban someone."
After hanging up the phone, I realized that I had tears all over my face.
The baby was gone, and the blood was still on my dress.
My fiancé, Benjamin Davis, smiled brightly, holding the prenatal examination report in one hand and clasping radiant Lily with the other.
His smile disappeared the moment he saw me.
Just a few hours ago, Benjamin was happily discussing the details of our wedding with me.
"This year's Gold Award will be mine. Once I win it, I can transform from a star to an acknowledged actor, and I will formally propose to you on the day I receive the award. Then we'll have the grand wedding you've always dreamed of."
We had everything planned: the largest bouquet, a mermaid-tail wedding dress, and no sentimental speeches on the wedding day.
Benjamin had promised, smiling all the while, and had driven me to the bridal shop to try on dresses. Yet halfway there, he had used a flimsy excuse to abandon me on the side of the road.
Now, I understood.
Benjamin didn't just want to drop me off; he wanted to erase me and our child from his life.
Lily looked at me in surprise. "Vivien, what are you doing here?"
Her belly was slightly bulging, and she was at least four months pregnant.
I found it was a bit ridiculous. She only came to the company a year ago and has known Benjamin for less than a year.
A trainee I had mentored had managed to seduce my fiancé of ten years under my very nose.
Even her pregnancy happened before me.
"Vivien, don't be upset. I know it's against policy for celebrities to date openly. But Benjamin he'd propose to me when he wins the award, and he'll transition to being a serious actor. I believe I can help him become the next Best Actor."
Benjamin held Lily in his arms, and didn't deny her words.
Benjamin and I had been in love for ten years, and I was willing to be a stepping stone for his rise to fame.
We were in a secret relationship, and I planned everything for him.
From having nothing at eighteen to winning everything by twenty-eight, Benjamin had frequently painted vivid pictures of our dream wedding.
"Vivien, give me some time. When I succeed, I will announce to the world everything you have done for me, and I will spend the rest of my life proving my love for you."
Now that he had achieved success, I, the stepping stone, had become a burden to him.
He had the ability to realize this dream wedding for me and had prepared everything, but he left me, his bride, behind.
How ironic that my fiancé told me on our tenth anniversary that he was marrying someone else.
Ten years had passed, and Benjamin was still that exquisite and handsome young man.
But the coldness in his eyes made him a stranger to me.
Compelled by some force, I spoke, "The baby is gone."
