Chapter 6

On the way back to my apartment, William stopped the car at a flower shop.

After buying a large bouquet of roses, he opened the back door and said to me, "Come and sit in the passenger seat."

I felt a little carsick, so I didn't refuse.

But when he handed me the bouquet, I pushed it away.

"Keep your distance. I'm allergic to pollen."

We'd known each other for 15 years, and yet he didn't know that about me.

It seemed that being persistently and humbly in love with someone was really stupid.

He hesitated for a moment, then threw the bouquet into a trash can.

He opened his mouth, hesitated for a good while, and finally said, "I'm sorry, I didn't know."

William was a clean freak and didn't like people getting too close to him.

It was the first time I sat in the passenger seat of his car.

But I saw cookie crumbs in the gap of the seat.

I even saw a photo of him and Sally in the compartment of the makeup mirror.

I was so excited on the day we got our marriage certificate that I subconsciously sat in the passenger seat and got scolded by him.

Once, I was eating in the bedroom.

He cursed at me and said I had no manners.

Those standards turned out to be specially tailored for me.

I took out the photo in the compartment of the makeup mirror and mercilessly threw it at William's face.

His face changed. "No, let me explain..."

After murmuring for a long time, he still couldn't explain anything.

Just as the traffic light turned red, there was a loud crash as the car behind collided with his.

William got out of the car to check the situation.

Beep!

His phone received a message notification.

I picked up his phone and entered Sally's birthday to unlock it.

[William, you didn't go home last night. Is Annie angry?]

[William, I have an allergy. Can you bring me some ointment and help me apply it?]

Following that text was a photo with a hickey and a half-exposed chest...
