For her First Love, My Wife Sued Me for Murder
For her First Love, My Wife Sued Me for Murder Chapter 1
My childhood sweetheart, Ryan Gildon, and I got engaged on Valentine's Day.
On that day, Ryan took another woman to the stage.
The host looked embarrassed and didn't know what to say.
Ryan grabbed the microphone from the host and said to the guests.
"This is Lara Dennis, the love of my life. I wanna spend the rest of my life with her."
The crowd burst into an uproar, and everyone looked at me.
Embarrassed and angry, I said in a trembling voice, "Lara, we've been classmates for four years. I can't believe you stole my boyfriend!"
Lara smiled and exchanged a look with Ryan. Then she refuted, "'First come, first served' doesn't apply when it comes to love. The one that isn't loved is the other woman."
I stepped forward, wanting to slap the bitch couple.
Ryan quickly stood in front of her. "Belle, don't blame Lara. She's the kindest and the most innocent girl I've ever seen. Blame me if you want."
In fact, I blamed myself for being so stupid.

The engagement party humiliated my family, and I became the laughingstock of everyone in New York.
I used to be lively and cheerful. Yet after today, I was like a different person.
I started losing sleep, losing hair, forgetting things, and suffering from emotional problems.
The bags under my eyes got worse, and the dark circles under my eyes got darker. The new stains on my face made me look ten years older.
One day, Mom pushed open my door. She walked up to me and said excitedly, "Belle, I've received an email from the University of Edinburgh. Your application for a master's degree has been accepted!
"Don't stay at home all day. Go abroad to study."
"No! Stop bugging me!" I pushed her out of the bedroom and closed the door heavily.
Right now, I was overwhelmed by depression and irritability. Nothing interested me.
That night, I lost sleep again.
I decided to go to a nearby park to take a walk. Thinking that there wouldn't be many people in the park at night, I put on a coat outside my pajamas casually and went out in a disheveled manner.
By the side of the road, a couple were cuddling. When I approached, I heard the woman in the man's arms say coyly, "Stop it. You're so bad. Stop kissing me. Any passer-by will see us. Perhaps she'll be jealous."
It's late at night, and there are only us three here. Is she referring to me?
I got furious and wanted to tell her that I wouldn't be jealous of them no matter what, and that she should show me some respect.
But when I got closer, I was slack-jawed. It was Ryan and Lara.
The streetlamps in the park are so dark, and I didn't wear contact lenses. Can it get any more awkward?
I turned around and ran, wanting to vanish from the awkward situation as soon as possible. Unexpectedly, a car suddenly appeared in front of me. I failed to dodge in time and was knocked into the air.
I opened my eyes and found myself at home.
My mom pushed the door open and said happily, "Belle, I've received an email from the University of Edinburgh. Your application for a master's degree has been accepted! Don't stay at home all day. Go abroad to study."
I threw myself into her arms. "That's great! I wanna go!"
She patted me on the back and said in a broken voice, "I'm so glad to see you pull yourself together. You have no idea how worried I have been these days."
I rubbed my head against her shoulder and said, "I'm sorry to have made you and Dad worry. Promise I won't be a fool in love again. I'll study hard, and when I come back, I'll make the family business thrive."
She smiled, "We're glad. You've grown up."
I had a hearty dinner. Then I went to bed early and soon felt sleepy and fell asleep.
My life was great. There were so many unknowns waiting for me to explore.
I got dumped at the engagement party. So what? Compared with losing my life, it was nothing.
There were countless men in the world. I'd just find myself another one. It was a piece of cake.
