Chapter 5

On the second day after moving into the rented house, Joyce appeared at my door.

As soon as I got out of the elevator, I saw her pulling a suitcase alone.

She grinned brightly and knocked on my neighbor's door violently.

I called her name and the door unfortunately opened at the same time.

A man in a suit opened the door. Before I could see the man's face clearly, Joyce's hand hit the man's chest with the gesture of knocking on the door.

Joyce froze and I immediately stepped forward to pull her back.

"I'm so sorry. My friend knocked on the wrong door."

After saying that, I pulled Joyce to return to my house.

Joyce still stood in the hallway in the same gesture and raved, "Your neighbors are pretty nice, and that handsome guy's chest had good hand feel."

I covered her mouth with my hand in case the house wasn't soundproof.

I echoed in agreement, "Yes, that guy was much stronger than Chasel, who's rich but looks thin."

As soon as we sat down, she took out a small notebook and suggested that I help her check the division of the property, so as to protect my rights.

Joyce worked as a lawyer. She had seen many cases of divorce of wealthy people, so she also wanted to give me some advice.

I shook my head.

The divorce petition was handed over to the court, and Chasel should have arranged well long ago.

As soon as we granted the divorce decree in the courtroom, he transferred 5 million dollars into my account almost immediately.

That's why I moved out of my original house without waiting for Chasel to come back.

Joyce lamented that I agreed rashly, and it was too late now if the property was not appropriately divided.

"This is almost all his property, right? Did he keep some for himself?"

Joyce stayed here for nearly half a month in case I wavered to look for Chasel. Only when she found that I had indeed given up the idea did she go home with ease.

And I hadn't been to my store for nearly half a month.

I subconsciously clicked on Chasel's Instagram.

The latest update was still the picture of fingers clasped together.

This was abnormal. I felt inexplicably anxious.

Chasel used to post frequently. I couldn't help but suspect that he may have died.

So who was the person replacing Chasel now, and where was the real Chasel?
