Finding Out My Girlfriend's Affair, I Give Her a Big Gift
Chapter 3
Back home, in the apartment I had rented for the two of us out of convenience.
Now that I knew Caitlyn had cheated, I had no desire to stay here any longer.
I stared at myself in the mirror.
"Hmm, looking so good."
I had money, I was handsome, and there were plenty of women chasing after me.
All I wanted now was to take a shower, leave this place, forget about Caitlyn, and start over.
I stayed in the shower for almost two hours, my rough skin turning red from the heat.
It took me a long time to wash because I felt filthy.
Stepping out of the bathroom, I suddenly froze, frowning at the empty room. With a resigned sigh, I spoke up.
"Come on out."
As soon as I said that, a female ghost appeared in front of me, dressed in an evening dress and wearing a half-face mask.
But even with only half of her face visible, her delicate features, full of youthful charm, made me feel like a breeze in spring.
She leaned against the doorframe lazily, smiling lightly.
"I finished my work over there, so naturally, I came to check on you. Hmm, Samson, you look a bit different than usual today."
"What?"
"Hmm… today you seem to have some romantic misfortune on your horizon."
I rolled my eyes at her.
Misfortune? More like my love life just took a nosedive.
"She's here," she said, her eyes lighting up.
"Click!"
Suddenly, the door was unlocked with a key.
It was not romance that had arrived, but trouble.
It was Caitlyn.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, irritated.
"Samson, I…"
"Do not call my name. It disgusts me."
"I… I didn't know you were that rich. I just wanted to marry you sooner, and I made a mistake in a moment of weakness. How could I love anyone else? I only love you, Samson. Please, please forgive me. Just give me one last chance."
Caitlyn pleaded, her eyes brimming with tears.
The ghost standing beside me, well, more like watching the show, laughed.
And I only felt more disgusted.
"Once a cheater, always a cheater. This apartment lease has another year on it, so wait until I'm gone tomorrow before coming back. I don't want to see trash in my house. Thanks."
With that, I closed the door.
"Samson, please…"
Caitlyn did not give up, pounding on the door and shouting.
I just felt tired. What did I ever love a woman like her?
Had spending too much time with the dead made me blind to the living?
Any lingering feelings I had for Caitlyn disappeared.
The ghost stretched lazily and chuckled coldly, "How dare she harass my Samson. Let me teach her a lesson."
Wait, your Samson?
Before I could react, she had already phased through the door.
Moments later, I heard Caitlyn scream in terror and then run away in panic.
"What did you do to her?"
"What do you think? I let her see a ghost." She waved her hand innocently.
Then she sniffed the air lightly and took a step closer to me.
"She has the scent of corpse resentment on her. It's not the main source, but the resentment has started to gather. This could be tricky," she said, grinning playfully, "You've been slacking off, you know. Now you're just giving me more work."
