Fight Against Her Evil Side!
Chapter 3
My parents and Warren arrived quickly.
When I heard the doorbell in the bedroom, Margie got up from the sofa.
"Who is this at this hour? Renee, did you order takeout again? I've told you that eating junk food is not good for your health."
She grumbled as she went to answer the door.
Seeing my mom and Warren at the door, I wanted to cry. I turned around, grabbed my suitcase, and walked towards the door.
Zoe was lying on the couch. When she saw me carrying a suitcase, she called out my name.
"Renee, where are you going?"
I ignored her. Warren squeezed in through the door, took my suitcase from me, and handed it to Dad. Warren held my arm and said, "Be careful. Watch your step."
Margie looked at the suitcase and then at me, feeling embarrassed.
"Renee, what are you doing? Where are you going?"
I looked at her and felt disgusted.
"Martin often goes on business trips. Zoe is about to give birth, and so am I. You're unable to take care of us together, so my parents are here to pick me up. In this way, you can take good care of Zoe."
Margie forced a smile and came over to hold my hand, but I dodged calmly.
"No, I can take care of both of you. Besides, how could Martin not come back when you give birth? Zoe and you will give birth together. What could go wrong?"
Zoe chimed in, "That's right, Renee. It's not good for Martin's fortune if you live with your parents before giving birth."
I sneered and looked at Zoe's belly.
"If that's the case, I'll stay and you have to leave," I said.
Zoe's face darkened, and Margie was also unhappy. She looked at me with a fake smile and said, "Renee, that's not how it works."
I couldn't be bothered to argue with her. My mom came over and held my hand, ready to leave.
Seeing this situation, Margie quickly stood in front of us and said, "No, that won't do. Renee's married to Martin and has become part of our family. She's my daughter-in-law, and she is carrying Martin's child and about to give birth. So, she can't go back home."
My mom had a good temper, but my dad was not patient.
I caught a glimpse of Zoe's belly and mocked, "According to your logic, Zoe's carrying a child out of wedlock. Who is the baby's father?"
This remark was scathing and ironic.
Warren laughed out loud, and I almost couldn't hold back my laughter.
Margie's face and Zoe's turned red and then pale.
Taking advantage of their awkwardness, my mother pulled me out the door.
Margie blocked the door with her body and threw a tantrum. "If you want to leave, step over me!"
