Chapter 3

Soon, it was Thanksgiving Day.

Some people came uninvited.

While we were having dinner, the doorbell rang.

Bruce and Mary were carrying some fruits, followed by Luis who looked lazy with messy hair.

"Well, you are having dinner. We arrived at the right time." Mary came in with a smile and said.

"Ann, you are getting more and more beautiful."

Sam pushed me and said, "You are so rude. Greet them."

Glaring at Sam coldly, I continued eating and ignored him.

Sam invited Bruce's family to sit down and eat together.

After Bruce sat down, he rubbed his hands and said, "Sam, Luis is at the age to get married. You promised to give us a house. When are we going to handle the transfer?"

Mary also looked at my parents with excitement and anticipation.

Jenny's face froze. She looked at Sam and scolded him, "Why did you promise them? I said the house belonged to Ann. Why do you want to give it to outsiders?"

I said with a smile, "Bruce and Mary, Sam has no right to deal with the house. It belongs to me. As long as I don't agree, no one can take it away.

"If you want it, you can give us three million dollars."

The smiles on Bruce's and Mary's faces immediately disappeared, and they looked at me angrily.

Sam glared at me and said with a smile, "We are family, and we can discuss it later."

Bruce became unhappy. "Sam, didn't you say that Jenny would listen to you? Why don't you give the house to me now? Did you lie to me?"

Jenny looked at Bruce and Mary coldly without speaking.

Mary said to Sam in a sarcastic tone, "Sam, why are you so obedient to your family? Don't you even have the right to make the decision? I wouldn't dare to yell at Bruce like that."

Sam's face turned pale, perhaps because he felt his dignity was insulted.

As he slammed the table, he stood up and yelled at Jenny, "You dare to argue with me!"

Then, he pointed at me and tried to coerce me. "Ann, if you don't give the house to Luis, you are not my daughter!"

I was so angry that I yelled at Sam, "Stop yelling! This family is supported by Jenny. Stop talking nonsense here."

Sam's face turned red, and he wanted to beat me again.

Jenny grabbed him and said to Bruce and Mary, holding back her anger. "Stop talking. We won't give you the house. You can go now."

As I looked at Bruce and Mary, I laughed. "Uncle and Aunt, do you want to take my house away for free?"

Bruce said, "How can you talk to your father like that? You are going to get married anyway, so you should give the house to Luis."

Mary covered her mouth and laughed. "Yes, Ann, give the house to Luis. In the future, he can take care of your parents in their old age."

Sam said, "Yes, this will reduce your pressure. You should be grateful. Don't take their kindness for granted."

Feeling angry, I retorted without any hesitation.

"Luis is in his twenties, but he's still lazy at home. Can I rely on him to take care of my parents? He comes to my house every day to ask for money.

"Last time he asked my mother to introduce him to a job, but he beat up his boss.

"You should keep him for your old age!"

Luis was eating as if it had nothing to do with him, but when he heard me talking about him, he scolded me with a dark face.

"Bitch, what nonsense are you talking about? I will tear your mouth apart!" As he said that, he was about to rush over to hit me.

I wasn't scared at all.

I sneered and reached out to overturn the table. The food, drinks, and plates all fell on Bruce and his family, making them look embarrassed.

The dishes fell to the ground with a crackling sound, and the whole place was a mess.

Luis was so angry that he was about to hit me.

I ran into the kitchen and came out with a knife.

I swung it at him fiercely with bloodshot eyes and shouted coldly, "Come on! I'll kill you and then commit suicide!

"From now on, we won't give you a penny. Get out!"

Everyone was frightened by my behavior.

Jenny's face turned pale as she pulled my sleeve and shook her head.

Finally, Bruce left with his family. They cursed all the time as they left.

I threw away the fruits they brought.

After that day, Bruce no longer came to our house.

Seeing that Jenny and I were not as easy to deal with as before, Sam stopped making trouble.

Our life returned to normal.

One morning, I went to the kitchen to get some water.

When I passed the balcony, I heard Sam talking on the phone.
