Fatal First Love Returns Chapter 1

My husband's sister, Olivia, was bleeding out, her condition worsening by the second. The only thing that could save her was a blood transfusion from someone with the rare Phoenix blood type – the same type my husband, Jason, had.

But instead of being there to help, Jason was out shopping for baby supplies with his first love.

I called him many times to urge him to come to the hospital as soon as possible, but all I got in return was his impatience.

"Olivia saved your life, and now you want her to die!" he shouted on the phone.

I called again, but no one answered.

He didn't return home until a week later.

By then, it was too late for Olivia Morgan. She never woke up.

"Call the nearest blood bank immediately!"

Olivia was wheeled into the emergency room, her body covered in blood. The medical team was in a frenzy, working tirelessly to save her.

I stood in the waiting room, shaking uncontrollably. My mind was a whirl of prayers and desperate thoughts, hoping they would find a match for Olivia's rare Phoenix blood type in time.

Within moments, the chief physician approached me with a somber look.

"This blood type is incredibly rare. If we don't find a match within the next two hours, we might lose her."

Suddenly, it hit me—Jason had the same blood type.

In my panic, I had completely forgotten.

I quickly picked up my phone and called Jason.

"Jason, you have to come to the City General Hospital right now! Olivia's been hit by a car, and she needs a blood transfusion!"

"Jason's busy right now, call back later."

A sweet voice interrupted me before hanging up.

I could tell it was the voice of Jason's first love.

Jason had told me he had a business meeting this morning. I never expected he would be with her.

I didn't have time to care about what was going on between them and called back immediately.

No one answered the phone until the fifth call.

"Maddie, I'm in a meeting. Stop calling me unless it's important."

Jason's tone was very impatient.

"Jason, you need to come back now. Olivia needs a transfusion. Your blood type matches hers."

"Blood transfusion?"

Jason scoffed.

"Maddie, you're starting to sound like those melodramatic soap opera wives, making up any excuse to get me back home."

Tears choked my voice as I pleaded.

"Jason, please. I'm begging you, just come back and save—"

He hung up before I could finish.

I called again, but no one answered.

My vision blurred with tears as I crumpled to the floor, overwhelmed by the weight of it all.

Although Olivia was Jason's sister, she was my only family in this world.

Years ago, when the car accident happened, flames engulfed the vehicle, and Olivia risked her life to pull me out. As I clawed at her in terror and confusion, she bore the pain without a word of complaint.

I became an orphan after the car accident. Olivia had taken me in, sacrificing her career to stay by my side, guiding me through my darkest days.

With Olivia's encouragement, I regained my hope to live.

This morning, I had shared the news of my pregnancy with her. Olivia was overjoyed and eager to go shopping for baby clothes and maternity items. None of us expected a car would hit her that day.

With the doctors rushing around, I forced myself to stay strong and not give up.

Desperate, I called Jason's assistant, offering anything to get him to reveal Jason's location.

I rushed to the address he gave me, finding Jason at the same mall Olivia had planned to visit. He was there with his first love.

"Jason!"

I screamed.

They turned around, still holding hands.

Jason's brow furrowed in annoyance. "Have you been following me?"

I could barely catch my breath. "You need to come with me. Olivia's in critical condition. If she doesn't get blood within the next two hours, she'll die!"

Jason sneered, his voice dripping with contempt.

"Maddie, you're despicable. Olivia saved your life, and now you want her dead?"
