Farewell, There Was No Us Anymore

“They were all sent to the landfill and thrown into the garbage shredder. Your child deserves nothing better than that place!”

I suddenly looked up, my voice trembling uncontrollably, “What did you say?”

Krystal sneered, seeming quite satisfied with my reaction. “Hahaha, finally some reaction.”

“Don’t even think about aborting the child. You’re already six months pregnant, and it’s triplets. If you terminate the pregnancy, you’ll likely die too, unless you want to die and join your crushed eggs at the landfill.”

My heart raced, and a ball of anger seemed ready to explode in my chest.

I couldn’t hold back any longer and slapped Krystal hard across the face.

Krystal covered her face, about to scream, but Preston’s startled shout suddenly erupted, "Alissa! What are you doing!

Hearing that voice, the smug expression on Krystal's face instantly turned into one of grievance.

“Alissa, I thought about how I upset you yesterday and came to apologize. Even if you don’t want to forgive me, you can’t hit me!”

Preston glared at Krystal’s swollen cheek with a sinister expression, then turned to me and shouted angrily. "Alissa, what are you doing?!” 

“How could you be so cruel? Don't you know she's been having heart problems these past few days?"

I ignored his accusations; my gaze fixed on him. "Preston, what do I mean to you?"

Preston froze, a fleeting look of guilt flashing in his eyes. Just then, Krystal grabbed Preston’s hand.

“Preston, I feel a bit dizzy and my heart is racing. Please come with me to check this out”

Preston tried to say something, but his lips trembled for a moment before he finally supported Krystal and left.

As soon as they left, my brother’s message popped up on my phone. [Come downstairs.]

Half an hour later, I lay in the operating room of another hospital undergoing an abortion procedure.

The operating lights above my head were too bright, causing my eyes to hurt. Tears streamed down the corners of my eyes and into my hair.

Even though I had been anesthetized, I still felt so much pain. How could it not hurt? They had been inside my body for over six months, and I had imagined their faces countless times.

But now, I had to kill them with my own hands.

After the abortion procedure, I was wheeled out of the ward. My brother gently stroked my head with a look of heartbreak.

“Sleep now. I’ll handle everything else. I won’t let that beast find you.”

Three hours later, at Ellison Family’s Hospital, Preston felt an inexplicable sense of panic, as if something was rapidly disappearing from his life.

His secretary burst into the ward with a phone in hand, his expression filled with panic as he said, “Mr. Ellison, Mrs. Ellison, your wife is dead!”
