Chapter 4

When he found a pair of limited edition sneakers inside, which had been speculated to be 20,000 dollars per pair. He took my face in his hands and kissed me. "Wendy, you are so good to me. I will love you forever without leaving you."

I suppressed my thoughts and said expressionlessly, "What if I stop loving you before you leave?"

My words stunned Jasper and the atmosphere around us became tense. I suddenly burst into laughter and said, "Just kidding, let's enjoy our dinner first."

At this moment, I received a message and glanced at it before deleting it.

Recently, Jasper has been staying out late more and more often, and most of the time he just sent me a message to inform me that he would be working overtime.

Then the next day, he would buy me a small gift, and I would accept it without any doubt and remind him to take care of himself.

One day, he had a rare opportunity to stay at home but received a phone call and quickly ran downstairs.

When he came back, he brought a woman whom I had seen in photos. I knew she was Jasper's first love.

He kept more than 3,000 photos of this girl in his cloud storage. I had cried and asked him to delete them, but he scolded me for being petty.

"Wendy, let me introduce you to her. She's Yvonne Miller. She just came back from abroad and has nowhere to live, so she wants to live in our house for a few days." Although Jasper was discussing with me, I still sensed he was testing my bottom line and how much I would endure.

I smiled and took Yvonne's suitcase. "Don't be restrained. Have a seat."

Jasper was very satisfied with my reaction. After all, if he could have many lovers, it would be something he could show off to others.

"I told you that Wendy is generous. She'll be a good wife. Yvonne injured her waist while dancing, so let her sleep in bed. I can sleep in the study, and you may have to sleep on the sofa, but—"

"Hotel," I suddenly interrupted, and Jasper didn't react.

"Don't you agree?" Jasper asked. Yvonne beside me behaved so poorly as to bite her lip aggrievedly as if I bullied her.

I smiled and explained, "You're mistaken. It was me who went to live in the hotel. I can't sleep on the sofa because I'm a light sleeper. And I can't let her sleep there. So, Jasper, you can stay. Yvonne is a guest, and we can't both be absent."

Jasper couldn't suppress the smile at the corner of his mouth but still tried to frown and test me. "Wendy, are you angry? If you're not happy, I'll make her leave immediately. Don't think too much. I just help her as an ordinary friend."

I grasped his chin and comforted him. "I love you. I can do anything for you, I'm not angry."

Afterward, under their watchful eyes, I checked into the hotel. As soon as I entered the door, my lips were blocked by a man.

The man asked, "How long do you want me to wait? Your game should be over, hmm?"

"Wait a little longer, um..." I replied.

I didn't go back for a month, but Jasper came to the hotel to see me a few times.

I knew that he wanted me to move back because the rent was due soon.

I asked Jasper when Yvonne would leave, but he hesitated to say that Yvonne didn't mention it.

I didn't continue to ask him. "It's okay, just let her settle down."

One day, I received a call from Jasper's brother, saying that he had drunk too much and asked me to pick him up.

As soon as I walked into Jasper's private room, I saw him holding a large bouquet of roses.

He said, "Wendy, I have good news to tell you."

I looked at the expressions of the people around me, and his friends were cheering.

Shirley looked at us with reluctance on her face, and Yvonne had red eyes and was heartbroken.

I realized what was going on, so I thought for a moment and spoke up. "Oh? I also have something to tell you."

He excitedly told me that I would be very happy to hear it and made me allow him to say it first.

But I insisted on saying together to see who would be more surprised. He didn't even think about it and agreed.

"Let's get married!" Jasper said.

"I'm getting married," I spoke.
