Chapter 1

I knew Jasper Martin didn't love me that much, but I didn't care.

I loved him, so I learned to be tolerant when I heard him bragging about how to control me with his friends.

"Wendy will never leave me, so I will marry her when I'm enough playing. You know, every time she got angry, she would think that I had driven eight hours to see her with snow on my eyelashes," said Jasper.

I just smiled and paid for this meal, pretending not to know.

And then, I sent him to hear his female friend's complaints in the middle of the night.

When his first love wanted to stay at our house, I took the initiative to live in a hotel.

He always persuaded me not to think too much with guilty eyes. I could only respond with three words, "I love you."

Until I informed him of attending my wedding, he went crazy.

——

I paid the bill, and when I came back, I heard Jasper's friends praising him for controlling me well. "Jasper, you're too amazing. Wendy is completely obedient to you."

"Yeah, she doesn't refuse to pour the wine and pay for us at all. Do you have any special tips for managing her? Don't keep them to yourself," another friend said.

Originally, there's nothing wrong with protecting Jasper's self-esteem outside. But his answer made me stop.

"I'm not afraid to tell you that I just drove for 8 hours to find her when I got horny. After all, compared to those whores, she was free and didn't have any venereal disease, but I didn't expect her to be so moved. Every time I made her angry, she would think that I stood in the snow with snowflakes on my eyelashes at that time."

What Jasper said was four years ago when we had a fight and broke up.

In the blizzard, he stood outside my house in the middle of the night and sent me a message: [My life won't be worth living without you, so even if there are countless difficulties, I come and see you.]

When I saw his message and went downstairs, what I saw was him trembling in the wind and snow, his red eyes and eyelashes were full of ice beads of fog and snow condensation.

He was so cold that he couldn't even speak, just looking at me pitifully and affectionately.

At that moment, I thought that he loved me so much. Afterward, I reflected on myself and restrained my temper.

To remind myself to cherish him, I updated my Facebook status that only I can see. [Every time I got angry, the image of snow on his eyelashes on that snowy night would appear in my mind, which was enough for me to forgive him many times.]

It turned out that he had already seen my post, so he could be so unrestrained.

In fact, I accidentally heard the same words a year ago, but at that time I was so sorry for him. For now, I seemed to have no special feeling.

In the room, Jasper's friends were asking, "No wonder you can go wild. Aren't you afraid that Wendy will find out about the real you? Have you ever thought about getting married with her?"

Jasper replied casually, "I haven't thought about it for now, but she is quite suitable to be my wife. When I have enough fun, I'll marry her. I bet you that she will never leave me as long as I'm willing to deal with her and will think that I love her very much."

Listening to his bragging, I pushed the door open with a polite smile and pretended not to know what they were talking about. "What are you talking about so happily? I've already paid the bill, let's leave."

When Jasper saw me coming in, he stood up to put on my coat for me and picked up my bag. "Nothing, they're urging us to get married, asking when you will agree to marry me. I'm afraid someone else will snatch my good wife away."
