Chapter 1

On a job hunting variety show, I was holding three French master's degrees and the twelve CEO interviewers all turned off the lights. Just because the female CEO asked questions in French, I couldn't understand a word, she scolded me on the spot as a liar and a fake returnee!

The audience shouted for me to get off the stage, but they didn't know that the female CEO's plastic French was incomprehensible to the French.

The other party was a fake returnee! I defended myself, but was interrupted by the host, who asked me to admit that my academic qualifications were fake.

I refused and more than a dozen CEOs threatened to ban me from the entire industry!

With no other choice, I had to take out the certificate of the highest French institution of higher learning that was slandered as a junior college and asked the embassy to identify it.

"When did your French signature school become a fake university? Do you still want the reputation of the country?!"

——

I was extremely shocked. Sitting high on the judges' seat, the female CEO Wendy Jones, who claimed to have lived in France for ten years, turned out to be a fake.

It was just a short French sentence, but she used sixteen wrong words.

I asked her to say it again politely, but I didn't expect Wendy to bite me back for fear of being exposed by me.

"Stop pretending, I see you don't understand French at all! And you dare to lie that you are a returnee?"

She pretended to be jealous, splashed coffee on my face and said to help me wash my eyes.

"Look carefully, our "It's You" program is a stage to showcase talents, not a place for you liar to fish in troubled waters!"

The audience cheered for her justice and they all scolded me, I deserved it!

Other CEOs also shook their heads and said to me with contempt, "Young people are just too ambitious, they want high salaries without any ability and they can only take crooked ways!"

They pressed the elimination button one after another, shouting the next one. Twelve lights went out in an instant.

And I argued hard, I didn't lie. I graduated from a famous French school and the certificate number can be found on the official website of the colonel.

I opened the certificate without hesitation and pointed it at the cameraman's lens.

I believe it was true, it couldn’t be fake!

But before the camera could take a clear picture, the host Olivia snatched my certificate and handed it to Wendy, saying contemptuously.

"Mrs. Jones, look, this certificate is fake at first glance!"

I questioned Olivia angrily. She didn't even look at the content of the certificate. Why did she say I forged it? Wasn’t she afraid of ruining my future? Was it just because Wendy called me a "fake returnee"?

Just because she was the boss, she was high above and everything she said was right! Were job seekers inferior to others and should be bullied and looked down upon?

Facing my accusation, Wendy said disdainfully, "A liar is a liar. When I expose him, he slanders me for bullying others."

She swore that she was very fair.

"I've seen it, your certificate is indeed from France, you are really a returnee. But it's from a technical college!"

She deliberately belittled me, "No wonder, your French is so bad and you can't study well."

I was extremely angry. Wendy probably couldn't even understand the certificate, but she pretended to be authoritative and falsely accused me of attending a fake university. But no one believed me.

The audience shouted at me to get out, have you played the liar enough? They were all embarrassed for me!

I clenched my fists in humiliation and asked Wendy to return the certificate to me.

After that, I would post the certificate online and let netizens across the country to identify whether my academic qualifications were real or fake.

Wendy still said stubbornly, "It's up to you, I am not afraid of the shadow of my body!"

But as she said that, her elbow knocked over the teacup on the judges' table.

The coffee instantly splashed all over my certificate.

The academic qualifications I earned by studying hard late at night were just soaked into a piece of waste paper and Wendy threw it to the ground with disgust.

I fell to the ground in a hurry, wiping the stains with my sleeves, tears falling uncontrollably.
