Chapter 3

He didn't expect that not only did I have sharp eyes, but I also paid attention to everything.

"What's the matter? He asked me again flatly.

I quickly looked inside your room and cut to the chase, "You live here by yourself?"

"What do you want to do?"

"If you can't come to my place to treat me, I'll just have to come over to yours and see if you can help me. Is that alright?"

Perhaps because I was shamelessly persistent, Justin couldn't stifle a chuckle, exasperated, "Is this how you ask for help?"

I shrugged and said, "This is my first time asking for help. I'm not very good at it yet."

Justin narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Can I come in?"

In the end, he let me in.

He knew darn well that, by showing up at his doorstep, I was fully committed to playing the shameless card to the very end.

"What would you like to drink?" he asked me as he stood by the fridge.

But before I could reply, he poured me a glass of water.

I looked at the glass he handed me and chuckled. " Mr. Smithson, are you genuinely pure or just putting on a show of innocence?"

Justin answered, "I don't understand what you're talking about."

"I'll drink those," I said, pointing at his wine cabinet.

Justin assumed his professional air as a doctor and remarked, "You don't come to see me for medical advice, do you? Remember, alcohol and illness don't mix well."

"That is to say, you are willing to treat me?"

As I spoke, I got up and walked towards him.

Justin didn't dodge.

I was surprised, but I continued to walk forward.

It was not until our clothes were stuck to each other that I asked Mr. Smithson again, "What's your fee for consulting with me at your residence?"

"It's costly."

"How much? If I can't afford it, can I offer myself in marriage as a token of gratitude?"

smirked, his lips curling in a hint of sarcasm, and said, "Getting bored with your dating pool, huh? Looking to mix things up with me now?"

"What dating pool?"

"Don't pretend," he grabbed my arm and pushed me back to keep a distance from me, "You're not exactly a pro at asking for favors, but when it comes to flirting, you've got it down pat!"

I was amused by his words and tiptoed closer to his lips, exhaling softly with a fragrant breath, "Am I really that good? I think you are the type who wouldn't be swayed by temptation?"

"What exactly constitutes being swayed?" he asked.

Even when kissing, Justin had a restrained look on his face.

Seeing that I didn't close my eyes, he raised his hand to cover them.

"Mr. Smithson..."

"Focus on paying."

I kept quiet, but once it was all done, I couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Smithson, is it standard procedure for you to collect payment before even examining the patient?"

" Not for others, but for you, it is."

"Then Mr. Smithson, are you going to treat me now or later?"

"Now."

The feeling of not wearing gloves and wearing gloves was completely different.

I suddenly suspected that Justin was just restraining his desire on the surface.

His way of treating patients was so professional.

He was so professional that I was still confused when he tidied up his clothes and resumed his calm and restrained look.

Justin adjusted his glasses and looked at the clock on the wall. His voice was low, "It's too late. You should go home."

Heh.

"He's really something," I thought.

I lowered my head and chuckled. Then, I went to the sofa and took out a cigarette case and a lighter from my bag.

This was the first time I had smoked in front of Justin.

He frowned as if he didn't like it.

"If you need to smoke, please do it outside. Don't make my house smell like smoke."

"Mr. Smithson, you don't smoke? " I'll blow a puff of smoke in his direction. "It's a pity. Smoking a cigarette and savoring it slowly during moments like these offers distinct enjoyment."

"Valery Jefferson."

"What's wrong?"
