Ex-husband, My Revenge is Here! Chapter 1

When I married Michael Wright, he was poor.

Later, his business grew bigger and bigger, with branch offices all over the country.

He also had countless lovers outside.

But I never expected that my younger sister, Ashly Clegg, would be one of his lovers.

Ashly proudly stood in front of me and said, "Sister, you can't keep Michael's heart. He will always have other women, and it's better if it's me."

I decided to let them get their comeuppance.

Michael didn't come home tonight.

This was the third time he had stayed out all night this month.

In the past, no matter how much he played outside, he would come back before 3:00 in the morning.

Maybe the day of our divorce was coming soon.

I wanted to force a smile but failed.

I got up and went downstairs. Belinda Hammond, the servant, was shocked to see my pale face. "Madam, are you suffering from insomnia again? Your eyes are swollen. Please sit down. I will help you apply ice."

I picked up some bread and slowly ate it. "No, I'm going out later."

When I just married Michael, he wasn't like this.

Back then, he was poor but he loved me so much.

Those days had been gone for so long, so long that it seemed as if everything was just my fantasy.

Now, he was getting busier and busier, his business was growing, and he got more and more lovers.

And I didn't change and still missed the old days.

I was addicted to love.

I hated myself for being so powerless.

When I finished cleaning myself and was about to go out, Michael came back.

He glanced at my clothes and frowned, "Are you going out?"

"Yes." I didn't look at him and walked out.

He grabbed my arm and said coldly, "Where are you going?"

"To work."

He mocked, "You've been a full-time housewife for seven years since graduation. Are you tired of living a good life and want to suffer outside?"

It hurt my heart to talk about this.

When he just started his business, he was so busy that he couldn't spare any time. He couldn't afford to hire anyone, so I quit my job to help him.

Later, when his career became better and I wanted to find a job, his mother fell seriously ill and needed someone to take care of her. He asked me to take care of the family and he would make money.

He said we should divide the work to make the family better.

At first, I was reluctant, but he coaxed me into saying that my efforts in taking care of the family so that he could have no worries were also a great contribution.

But now he thought I was useless.

He always said that he supported me so I could have a good life.

I smiled and pulled my hand away, "Yes, am I being stupid."

He took off his tie and frowned irritably, "Can't you stop? Why can't we just live a good life without constantly picking fights with me?

Can't you..."

Can't I show you concern and welcome you with a smile? Like your lover outside?" I mocked.

He brought me back to the sofa and called my family.

He often did this. Whenever he was dissatisfied with me, he would call my mother over to teach me a lesson.

What was even more ridiculous was that my mother thought I was wrong.

When I first found out that Michael had a lover, I went back to my parents' home crying and said I wanted a divorce.

But my mother scolded me and sent me back.

She thought men always cheat, as long as they could come home. Especially someone like Michael, who was getting richer and more successful.

Michael felt guilty when caught for the first time, but he completely accepted my mother's ideas and no longer felt guilty later on.

"If a man doesn't have lovers, he has no money or status.

Look at the wives of rich men. They are all aware of their husbands' affairs but ignore them. Why can't you?

Haven't I given you enough money?"

He was aggressive and intimidating.

I smiled bitterly, "When we got married, you had nothing. Do you think I married you for money?"
