Chapter 3

William looked at me sharply. His face was slightly flushed, which surprised me.

"Kimberly, what are you doing?"

I froze looking at William, who looked very angry.

"Never mind, William, it's my fault. I've made Kimberly angry. My past mistakes are unforgivable. But who would want to be in her shoes?"

I was surprised to see Audrey sobbing. While William hugged her to calm her down. While I, as his wife, was ignored.

"I'm sorry, William, I didn't mean to bring up the past. I accept that Kimberly poured water on me."

I looked at Audrey's annoyance, she seemed to be good at acting so as to make William look hateful to me.

"I also accept if Kimberly throws a glass at me, but please don't badmouth Mom."

I was shocked again. Audrey was twisting the facts. She was lying to gain William's sympathy. I clenched my fists. I wanted to pull her hair bald, but I was helpless before William.

"She's lying, I'm not badmouthing Mom," I replied, denying Audrey's words. I had to defend myself, I didn't want to be blamed for what I didn't do.

"Shut up, Kimberly. You talk too much!" William snapped at me, making me shut up.

"Answer me honestly! Did you douse her with water?" asked William with a sharp gaze.

Before answering, I looked at Audrey, who smiled wryly. Because I saw myself being treated harshly by William.

I nodded my head. I answered honestly.

"Did you also throw a glass at him?"

"I didn't throw William's glass, I accidentally dropped it."

"Shut your mouth! Intentionally or not, you did it!"

I kept quiet, it was useless for me to fight and defend myself. William would still defend Audrey.

"Forgive William, Kimberly. I know he's just upset with you. All this is just a misunderstanding, you shouldn't be angry because of his attitude."

My stomach lurched at Audrey's kind words and gesture.

"Bring the medicine box to the room for Audrey!" William said with a flat face. I clutched my shirt tightly as I heard William give another order.

I was even surprised to see William carrying Audrey's body. Even though it wasn't only Audrey who was injured, I was also hit by the glass shards.

Seeing his indifferent attitude made me get evidence. That William really didn't care about me. He didn't look at me anymore.

And when they were about to leave. Audrey, who was in William's arms, pushed my body. Fortunately, I fell on the sofa. If I had fallen on the floor, I don't know how my baby would have fared. I have to take good care of my baby. Audrey's presence in this house is very dangerous for my pregnancy.

I also saw Audrey waving. She even kissed William's cheek to show her victory.

I sat down weakly. It seemed like their relationship had gone very far.

I went to get the medicine box as instructed by William. I didn't want him to get angry again. And make me stressed out thinking about it. I need to keep my body healthy, because I'm currently pregnant.

After taking the medicine box, I came to my and William's room. Seeing Audrey and William sitting on my bed made my heart ache. They were even boldly holding hands with each other.

Seeing them chatting happily without caring about my feelings. With a strong heart, I stepped in, surprising both of them.

"You should have knocked first, Kimberly!" said William, who looked surprised at my arrival.

I didn't answer him. Why would I knock on the door to my own room?

Just as I was about to sit down, William's voice suddenly startled me.

"Kimberly, why are you sitting? Hurry up and treat Audrey's wound!" William said while holding the medicine box.

"No need, William, I can do it myself. I don't want to be a disobedient sister," replied Audrey, who took the medicine box from William's hand.

"It's not like that, I want to make Kimberly a responsible woman!" he replied to Audrey with a gentle look.

Then William looked at me coldly. "Hurry up and do it!"

I was like his pet dog. I obeyed William's orders even though he had hurt me.

I took the medicine box and started to treat Audrey. Just as I was about to touch the wound, I was suddenly startled by Audrey's scream.

"Sorry, you're treating my wound too hard," Audrey said in pain.

I had just taken the cotton swab and hadn't touched the wound. But she was already in so much pain that the sound of her scream made William stand up and slap my cheek.

My cheek felt hot and throbbing. It wasn't just my mind that was hurting, now my body was starting to hurt.

"Slow down, Kimberly. You've gone too far; Audrey is hurting!"

"Sorry."

I catch my breath to keep from crying. I don't want my tears to fall again for a man like William. And Kimberly would cheer triumphantly again.

"Treat it right, I want to go for a while. Don't hurt Audrey again, you're family!"

William's departure made me fall limp. He slapped me in defense of Audrey.

"See who he's defending?" Audrey smiled at my weak look.

"Shut up already, Audrey, my head hurts!" I said irritably.

"I really miss this bed. Do you remember your wedding anniversary party last year?"

I froze listening to Audrey's words that were making me jealous.

"This bed is where we made love, Kimberly. William's sweet gesture is still vividly remembered."

"How he kissed and hugged me. Even this blanket covered both of our bodies," Audrey said, throwing the blanket at my face.

I shed my tears hearing this sad fact.

"Look at the necklace you're wearing, he even asked me before buying it."

William even asked Audrey before giving his gift to me.

"Then remember your nightgown that was your wedding gift back then? I have it too. He bought two on purpose because he wanted to remember my face. You were his wild fantasy, Kimberly!"
