Just as I turned back, the driver had already dug into the grave. He tossed my sister’s remains aside like trash and kept going.

My chest burned as I climbed up the hill.

Willa and Kevin were holding a press event there. In front of the reporters, Willa was speaking confidently about building a luxury resort, transforming the poor mountain area into a tourist destination.

She promised to bring electricity, clean water and new roads to help the villagers become rich.

The crowd cheered excitedly.

Some of the villagers called Willa a “living saint” and Kevin a “great benefactor.” They even said they wanted to build a monument in their honor.

I asked coldly, “Willa, just because you want to build a resort, you think you can dig up someone’s grave?”

The moment she saw me, her proud expression froze.

She quickly walked over and whispered through gritted teeth, “Yohan, we’re divorced. Get out of here and stay out of my sight. If you dare make a scene, I won’t let you go.”

By then, the reporters had already noticed us.

One of them said, “Isn’t that Yohan Frost, Willa’s husband? Are they having a quarrel?”

Another added, “Didn’t you see the recent news? They already got divorced, but the reason wasn’t made public.”

The thought of a scandal between rich families got the reporters excited. Cameras instantly turned toward me from every direction.

One reporter even asked boldly, “Ms. Thompson, you and your assistant seem very close. It almost looks like you’re in a relationship. Did your divorce from Yohan Frost happen because of an affair?”

Willa let out a cold laugh. “I divorced Yohan because I found out he’s a man who lives off women. He married into a rich family just for money and status. He lied and manipulated me from the start.”

“And his sister is no better, a gold digger.”

“You probably haven’t heard of this yet, but after marrying into a family in the village, she kept complaining about how poor they were and kept begging for a divorce.”

“She later died during childbirth, but instead of grieving, Yohan used her death as an excuse to come here, using her corpse just for money.”

“That's why he showed up here, confronting me during my press. He’s threatening me.”

Her lies caused the entire place into chaos.

Reporters pointed their cameras right at my face, some even streaming live. The villagers began shouting insults at me. A few even threw dirt and stones in my direction.

At that moment, a young woman pushed through the crowd. She was wearing a hiking jacket, looking like a tourist.

It was my sister, Sonya Frost.

She looked confused and asked, “Willa, who did you just say died?”
