I had really wished time travelers existed, but the truth was, they didn't. I touched my empty belly and an overwhelming sense of loneliness engulfed me.

‘I’m sorry, child. It was my fault.’

Perhaps I had looked too pathetic at that moment.

Henry disdainfully turned his eyes away and started getting affectionate with Daisy. Before long, Henry's lips were on Daisy's, with the sounds of smooching filling the air.

Even though I desperately covered my ears with a pillow, I could still hear it. Their shameless display of affection made me feel disgusted. Soon, I couldn't hold it in anymore and started vomiting.

The sound of my retching caught their attention and Daisy covered her nose, hiding behind Henry. "Henry, this is so disgusting. Is she doing it on purpose?"

Her slightly red eyes made Henry's heart ache. Without hesitation, he locked me in the bathroom. "Amelia, stop disgustingly bothering people. If you want to be disgusted, do it to yourself."

I banged on the door, trying to get out, but the only response I received was silence.

I clung to the toilet, my tears long gone, my body curled up weakly on the floor. I couldn't understand how we ended up like this, or what I had done to offend him.

While Henry was away, Daisy opened the door. She looked me up and down with a malicious glare, then laughed out loud.

"I thought Henry found someone who could truly replace me, but you're really nothing special. With just a small gesture, he comes running over. I only had to mention being afraid of having a child and now you're the one handling everything."

Now I understood why Henry suddenly said he wanted a child.

Daisy even mentioned she wanted to save her first time for the wedding night and went ahead with In Vitro Fertilization instead. Everything was just a lie and I was foolish enough to fall for it.

Daisy’s laughter pierced through me and the anger rising inside made me want to slap her. However, my weak body couldn’t handle it and she easily pushed me back.

“Are you angry? You’re just a dog. Once I’m done playing, I’ll just toss you aside.” She sneered.

The door to the bathroom was shut again. It wasn’t until the janitor opened it that I realized Daisy had already been discharged.

I couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief. No more suffering from those two.

When I checked my phone, I found photos sent from an unknown number.

Daisy was wearing the wedding dress I had carefully chosen and Henry was standing next to her, smiling warmly. The suit really suited him.

When I learned that Henry was going to marry me, I had picked out the wedding dress well in advance. I was worried that my growing belly might ruin the photos, so I had reminded him multiple times.

But he always said he was busy and that we still had plenty of time, so there was no rush.

The truth was, he wasn’t busy. He just didn’t see me as the woman he wanted to marry.

Along with the wedding photos, the message also included several handwritten letters from Henry, filled with words of love.

While I was with him, I never saw any of those letters, but they were there, hidden where I couldn’t find them.

It was clear who had sent the photos. Without thinking twice, I blocked the number.

Just as I was about to rest, I received a call from my mom.

“Amelia, isn’t today your wedding day with Henry? Why does everyone say they don’t know you?”

“You two, just trying to live off others, hurry up and get out of here!”

I could hear a lot of noise in the background and my mom’s voice came through again.

“Amelia, your dad and I are here waiting for you, come quickly.”

Before I could respond, the call was abruptly ended.

I pulled out the IV needle and rushed out of the hospital.

The wedding venue was even more extravagant than I had imagined. I had never understood why Henry insisted on a pink rose theme back then.
