Disappeared Property, Huge Conspiracy

Daisy Levy, my sister-in-law, always treated me with unprovoked malice, constantly insisting her brother belonged solely to her. Though my husband dismissed her bizarre behavior as mere insecurity stemming from their close sibling bond, I chose to trust his word. However, my faith is utterly shattered when I discover them sharing a bed. Beneath their supposedly innocent family dynamic lies a disturbing boundary-crossing reality that forces me to question everything.

Chapter 2

I bought a cemetery plot for Sprite that day, hoping that Sprite could accompany my parents in the afterlife, so that they wouldn't be so lonely.

I comforted myself in this way.

And then I moved into a hotel in a daze.

This was also the first time since I got married that I didn't stay at home.

Maybe because I still had fantasies about Patrick, I lay in bed and was unable to fall asleep.

I checked for unread messages or missed calls over and over again and even posted my location on Instagram.

Unfortunately, there was nothing.

Patrick didn't come. Maybe he thought I would obediently go back.

After all, I had played this trick before, but I returned home and apologized to him within three hours.

...

The next day, I only waited for Patrick's lawyer to come, holding a folder with the divorce agreement.

Before, Patrick was a poor boy who came from the countryside to work hard in the city, while I was the only daughter in the city, and my father was a famous wealthy businessman of this generation.

As soon as I entered university, I liked Patrick's unwavering quality. With my relentless efforts, Patrick finally agreed to be with me and then we got married. At first, my parents didn't like Patrick at all, but in the end, they could only let me do what I wanted.

In the end, it was my own fault. I pursued this marriage at all costs, but timely stop was never too late.

The lawyer simply settled the property under my and Patrick's names.

But how could there be only one house and two cars?

After my parents died in a car accident, they left all their property to me. I couldn't deal with these things, so I let Patrick handle them. Could it be...

I had to call to question Patrick, but all I got was a casual response of "it's all gone."

He had no self-blame or guilt at all!

There was a voice of a girl acting spoiled on the side. Then the call was mercilessly hung up.

When I called again, it was already turned off.

I was so angry that I couldn't speak and my hands were trembling. I could only push the lawyer out.

I fell to the ground weakly. Not knowing how long I lay there, I finally pressed the mood and consulted a professional lawyer while trembling.

He analyzed that it was likely to be a property transfer, but currently it was impossible to find out where it was transferred to and the evidence. Even if I filed a lawsuit with the court, the risk would be very high!

And if it was really a transfer of property, it was impossible for him to prepare all this in a short time. Obviously, he had prepared for it for a long time!

How ridiculous!

It turned out that he had been planning to divorce me for a long time!

He even wanted to take my father's lifelong savings.

My whole body trembled unconsciously. So, was it like this?

Unwilling to give up, I came to investigate the situation at the hotel he was running. The manager patiently explained to me that the current major shareholder was another man, and Patrick had already withdrawn a year ago!

How was that possible?!

I got the same answer from other industry managers!

One of the new managers even doubted my identity, "Are you really Mr. Abbott's wife? The lady he brought here last time doesn't seem to be you."

The assistant manager beside him immediately nudged him with his elbow, seemingly indicating that he shouldn't speak nonsense.

I seemed to understand something.

The pent-up anger made me want to kill him with a knife!

But he didn't deserve me to put myself in the middle of this.

Otherwise, my deceased parents would be very sad!

It was already late when I returned to the hotel. The cold white light shadowed me, and the empty room was filled with loneliness and desolation, with a sense of powerlessness overwhelming me.

I felt as if the whole world had abandoned me.

Struggling in the hotel, I forgot about the time. I had changed the revenge plan many times and was never satisfied. How could I just let it go?

Before I could come up with a solution, I had almost no money left.

I couldn't afford to hire a lawyer at all, and the resumes I sent out have gone unanswered.

I used to be an outstanding graduate, but now I had become useless.

At the same time, Patrick's lawyer kept calling me to sign the agreement, but he himself never contacted me proactively...

Maybe I should try another way.
