Chapter 1

The story began half a month before the crown prince, Edward, ascended the throne.

That night, I lay in Edward's arms as usual. Everyone knew Edward's devotion to me. He loved me to the point of indulgence.

Even if a strand of my hair fell off, he would get angry and blame the maid, so as the crown princess, I had a bad reputation in the capital.

Many people secretly called me a witch who seduced the great Crown Prince.

After all, I was just the daughter of the justiciar's concubine. My elder sister, the daughter of the justiciar's wife, had a higher status than me, so she was the more decent choice as crown princess.

However, Edward had his eye on me, of all people.

Edward not only ignored the opposition of ministers but also quarreled with the emperor and even knelt outside the palace for three whole days to beg for the status of Crown Princess for me.

After the wedding, he spoiled me to the skies.

Until that night, I had a nightmare.

In the dream, I became a villain, a stumbling block to the love relationship between the hero and heroine.

This hero was Edward, my husband.

The heroine was my elder sister, who loathed me.

Yes, in the dream, my husband was in love with my elder sister and kicked me into the Frost Palace, the coldest and remotest palace.

As the legitimate crown princess, I ended up in such a miserable state after being betrayed by Edward, so I couldn't help but curse him as a scumbag.

He was calling me his sweetheart one second ago, yet the next second, his sweetheart became some other woman!

I was so angry that I beat Edward up in my dream. Perhaps it was because I moved too vigorously that Edward was awakened by me, who was lying beside him.

Edward woke me up softly and asked me with affectionate eyes, "Winnie, did you have a nightmare?"

Looking at this familiar face, I thought of what he had done to me in the dream, so I kicked him off the bed and spat loudly, "You scumbag!"

My husband, who had just been cursed as a scumbag, got up from the ground in a daze and looked at me in a spin.

He asked, "Winnie, what kind of messy dream did you have again? Did you confuse it with the plot in the play you watched during the day?"

I was stunned for a moment before I suddenly felt guilty.

"I'm sorry, Edward. I dreamed that you didn't want me anymore..."

It was indeed inappropriate to get angry with him just because of a ridiculous dream.

Edward smiled gently as if he didn't take my tantrum to heart. In his warm embrace, I felt that the cold and heartless man in my nightmare seemed to have nothing to do with him.

I sighed and said to myself in my heart, "It seems that I have indeed read too many romances."

After all, Edward and my elder sister had only met once or twice while my elder sister was the crown prince's concubine in the dream.

Now, I was Edward's only wife. He had no other women in the entire Crown Prince's Palace than me!

Therefore, everything in this dream must be false!

The next night, I had another nightmare, still about things between my unfaithful husband and my elder sister.

I was at a loss for what to do about this.

"Alas, I didn't read plays today, so why did I have such a ridiculous dream again?" I wondered.

This dream was even more detailed.

My unfaithful husband, Edward, bumped into my elder sister when he went to see the emperor, and then my elder sister became his concubine.

This dream was getting more and more ridiculous.

The imperial palace was so big, and the paths there were so wide, so by what coincidence could they bump into each other? Moreover, Edward must be accompanied by maids and servants whenever he went out. How could my elder sister prevent them from standing in her way?

I disdained to believe the plot of the dream, but it started to become more and more outrageous.

That night, I eventually got depressed because of this dream.
