Chapter 4

I replied calmly, “I'm fine!"l

"I originally wanted to take you to the auction..." Willy was clearly speaking to me, but his gaze gently landed on Elena and he even softly kissed the corner of her mouth.

I took a deep breath and said, "I'm fine. What time is the auction? I'll get ready!"

"Oh... it's 4 PM..."

Willy probably didn't expect me to go and his expression became a bit unnatural.

On the entryway cabinet, there was a large box. I immediately recognized it. It was a gown from a custom brand.

I didn't like that brand. So, it must be for Elena.

Elena's face darkened. She leaned close to Willy's ear, whispering, "Take me, or take that blind woman, you choose!"

I pretended not to hear, smiled and said, "Come pick me up in the afternoon, I'll wait for you."

"Okay!" Willy looked troubled and despite Elena's persistent attempts to flirt with him, he ignored her.

The two of them left together without saying a word, as if both were sulking.

I saw through the floor-to-ceiling window that they started arguing downstairs.

In a fit of anger, Willy drove off, while Elena was so upset that she stomped her feet, waiting by the roadside for a long time before finally hailing a taxi.

Not long after, my phone rang. It was a call from Elena.

I pressed the answer button and also started recording.

"Clara, it's me, Elena! Willy and I have been sleeping in the same bed for a long time. He doesn't love you anymore and there's no reason for your marriage to continue. Let's part on good terms, or things will get worse for everyone."

I quietly listened without saying anything.

Elena, burning with anger, her voice became sharp and biting. "Willy hasn’t touched you in a year. He's long lost interest in you. Are you really that stupid or just pretending? Still shamelessly holding onto the position of his wife, is it even worth it?"

"Since you want this position so badly, then it's yours," I said that and immediately hang up the phone.

A man who had been touched by another woman was no longer of interest to me.

I went to the hospital for a full check-up and the doctor said it was a miracle. My eyes had completely healed.

The weight on my heart was finally lifted. From then on, I finally lived the life I had always wanted.

I returned home, packed my bags and wiped away all traces I had left behind, then took a taxi straight to the airport.

At 3 PM, I sent Willy a voice message, saying I was feeling unwell and wouldn't be attending the auction.

He clearly let out a sigh of relief and said he'd come home to keep me company after the auction was over.

Hearing his words, I couldn't help but sneer. By the time he returned home, I was already at the foot of a snowy mountain.

On the way, I received three video clips.

The first was of Willy and Elena, dressed in custom gowns, walking hand-in-hand into the auction venue.

The second was of Willy spending an outrageous amount to buy a pair of pearl earrings for Elena and personally putting them on her.

The third clip showed Willy kneeling on one knee, proposing to Elena.

If it was not the fact that Willy was a married man, it really had the feel of a scene straight out of a drama.

Elena sent a voice message.

"Didn't you say you’d give Willy to me? Why is there still no movement? You must be lying to me! What's the point of dragging this out? You should just let go already."

I immediately replied. "I placed a divorce agreement in your bag. Find a way to get Willy to sign it."

With ten minutes left before boarding, Elena sent me a photo of the signed divorce agreement.

When the flight attendant reminded all passengers to turn off our phones, my phone rang.

It was Willy calling.

He spoke with a sobbing voice, his words a jumble. "I saw the call recording you sent... I don't know how... the video you forwarded to me... your eyes... the vision check report... I love you, but..."

I said coldly, “The plane is about to take off. This is the last time we’ll speak!”

“Don't! Clara, listen to me, I love you. Elena was the one who seduced me, I have no feelings for her! Wait for me, I’ll come find you right now. Please, don't leave me, I can't live without you!" He screamed hysterically, his voice filled with panic and desperation.
