Deadly Beauty, Infinite Crisis

After my husband, Tom, spent a night talking to a beautiful stranger on a train, our lives took a tragic turn. Three months later, my five-month-old infant, Nick, and I tested positive for HIV. Instead of offering support, Tom and his mother, Juliet Lane, falsely accused me of infidelity to force a divorce. Left broken by their cruel framing and the devastating death of my baby boy, I lost my mind and leaped from the eighteenth floor of a building.

Chapter 2

When I woke up again, the sunlight was shining through the gaps on my face. I stretched and sat up in bed.

Just as I was about to order takeout, Tom hurried over with an angry look on his face.

Juliet followed him. Her eyes swollen from crying.

I laughed. She was in her forties, but she was acting like a teenager, acting coquettishly and complaining.

Tom snatched my phone away and growled, "Katie, I'm away on a business trip for a few days, and you treat my mother like this?"

Nick was so scared by his yelling that he started crying.

I hurriedly coaxed Nick until he stopped crying, then I looked up and glared at Tom, "Your mother said that shit is a tonic, giving it to her is for her health. She should cherish it."

This was what Juliet once said, and I was now repeating it to them.

But this time Tom got angry. He kicked the table over and yelled, "Katie, you are deliberately going against my mother!"

It was not fair. Her mother said this for my good, but when I said this, it was considered as going against her.

Before I could refute him, Juliet started to act like a good person.

She wiped the tears from her face and said, "Tom, I'm fine. I just took some shit. Don't fight over me, and don't divorce me because of me."

In front of Tom, Juliet always appeared weak.

I was an open and honest person, so I had to suffer losses in front of Juliet, who was good at acting.

Initially, Tom would not have thought of divorce, but when Juliet mentioned this, he was a little dizzy for a moment.

Seeing Juliet being so humble and submissive, Tom felt hurt.

He pointed at me and gnashed his teeth and said, "Katie, apologize to my mother to admit your mistake, otherwise we will get divorced."

I glanced at Juliet out of the corner of my eye. She was smiling, and her eyes were full of gloating.

I snorted in my heart, "You want me to apologize to that old bitch? No way."

"Divorce if you want," I said firmly. If I hesitated, it would be disrespectful to myself.

After hearing what I said, he was shocked. He never thought that I would choose to divorce.

In his impression, I was someone who loved him so much that I could not help myself and could tolerate everything he and his family did.

I didn't hesitate, but he did.

Afraid that he would go back on his word, I provoked Juliet with my eyes as if to say, "See, even if I feed you shit, your son still won't be willing to divorce."

She understood what I meant and immediately started playing tricks. She begged me not to divorce Tom. She also said that if I really didn't like her, she could go back to the countryside alone.

Tom couldn't bear to let go of Juliet after they had depended on each other for so many years.

With Juliet's trick, Tom and I went to the law office and successfully got a divorce.

Since I was not the one at fault, I was not kicked out of the house with nothing in this life.

The best outcome for me would be to divide the property equally and raise Nick by myself.

In fact, the reason for my divorce from Tom was not only because of Juliet, but also because of that girl.

In just one night, he fell in love with her.

In my previous life, Tom started to be absent-minded at this time, and I thought he was depressed due to work pressure.

Now that I thought about it, it was all because of my slowness! Not only did I lose my life, but I also implicated Nick.

The day after the divorce, I took Nick for a full-body check-up. I was relieved when I saw that there was no health problem between us.

I used the remaining money to buy a small house and started a new life with Nick.
